  1. Postpublished at 18 overs

    Lancs 151-6 (require 32 from 12 balls)

Jake Ball has bowled a very good over with pace off very much on the menu.

He has mixed it up and George Balderson can't quite time anything perfectly with just seven off it.

Michael Jones is on strike and this, you feel, is the match.

    Lancashire need 183 to win

    Mark Davis
Former Somerset seamer on BBC Radio Somerset

Somerset are still not in control because of that no-ball six and the free-hit six. The wicket is important but so is the dot ball and it brings a new batter in. It's not easy for a new guy to come in and strike straight away.

If anyone is going to get Lancashire up here, Michael Jones has to be the man now.

Just to add to the drama... it's about to rain at Edgbaston.

  5. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.4 overs

    Blatherwick c Overton b Pretorius 15 (Lancs 142-6, require 41 from 20 balls)

Looked like a six when it left his bat but he has not timed that.

It was a low full toss but Jack Blatherwick has not quite got hold of it and it goes high to midwicket where Craig Overton makes a big shout and takes the catch.

  6. Postpublished at 16.2 overs

    Lancs 141-5 (require 42 from 22 balls)

Michael Jones hits a big one over long off and, better news still, it is a no ball and a free hit.

And what do you know... the free hit sails for a second six over backward square leg.

    Is that the momentum shifter?

  7. Postpublished at 16 overs

    Lancs 126-5 (require 57 from 24 balls)

Michael Jones and Jack Blatherwick have a huge task on against a hugely experienced Somerset death bowling attack.

Jake Ball fires a loose, wide full toss but Blatherwick can't quite get enough elevation on the cut towards the point boundary.

Just a single and the buzz is going from the crowd.

You can just see the start of a spike in the frame before the ball passes the bat. Quite clearly the spike after was too large to just be pad. Really poor decision from the third umpire

    Richard

To say the contact with the inside edge is between frames is not good enough. That could be crucial in this game and the tech should be good enough to make sure the decision is definitely right.

    Andy in Warrington

I don't agree with the third umpire's logic that there was a definite gap between bat and ball. But ultimately it was the right decision - there isn't conclusive evidence either way to overturn the decision.

    Jack

  10. Postpublished at 15 overs

    Lancs 119-5 (require 64 in 30 balls)

    That is more like it.

Jack Blatherwick has swung at one in the slot from Ben Green and heaved it over wide midwicket for six.

A few more would be handy.

    Lancs 110-5 v Somerset 182-7

    Michael Carberry
Former England batter on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Keaton Jennings and Liam Livingstone are the only two batsman to get the pace of this pitch for Lancashire.

But Somerset have been outstanding in the field so far.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 14.1 overs

    Shetty c Gregory b Green 6 (Lancs 110-5 Target: 183)

Arav Shetty reaches for a widish ball and dobs Ben Green to cover where Lewis Gregory takes a tumbling catch to his left.

The oomph is leaving this Lancs reply and the run rate is climbing. They need over 13 per six now.

The ball also changes direction slightly after the ball passes the bat. Livingstone has every right to be upset. That's an absolute horrendous decision.

    Seb, Winchester

DRS showing there why I’ve always thought Hotspot is the more reliable technology… UltraEdge is just far too unreliable and subjective.

    Russ, Upton

Sat in front of Lancs dressing room. Massive smash as Livingstone went into the dressing room! A few ‘choice’ words too…

  14. Postpublished at 13 overs

    Lancs 105-4 (require 78 from 42 balls)

Just two from another tight over from Migael Pretorius and Lancs need to reset here otherwise that controversial Liam Livingstone dismissal could derail their chase.

Jake Ball was expensive in his first but Lewis Gregory needs a good one from him here.

  15. Postpublished at 13:27 BST

Lancashire 105-4 chasing 183 to win

    Stephen Moore
Former Lancashire opener on BBC Radio Lancashire

There's a clear spike there. From the size of the spike it feels like it's a hard hit between bat and ball.

It feels like he probably got a tiny edge before it hit his back leg, but everything was so close - the bat, the ball, it was pretty much jammed together.

That's a huge moment in this semi-final. The third umpire was in an unforgiving place, it was a hard decision to make and ultimately Liam Livingstone was given out on the field.

  16. Postpublished at 13:24 BST

    Lancs 102-4 v Somerset 182-7

    Steven Finn
Former England fast bowler on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

The impact with the bat is between frames, so it's impossible to say whether it did catch the inside edge.

    Livingstone lbw b Gregory 29 (Lancs 102-4)

Liam Livingstone speaks to the umpires after being given outImage source, Rex Features

Controversial... and Liam Livingstone is not a happy bunny at all.

A straight one from the Somerset captain, Lewis Gregory, hits him in front of middle and off and the finger goes straight up.

Livingstone reviews immediately but the tech shows, in the third umpire's mind, he has missed it.

In truth that is almost impossible to work out even with the benefit of snicko but that is a huge moment in the game.

  18. Postpublished at 11.2 overs

    Lancs 101-3 (target 183)

That's the 100 up for Lancs in the 12th over with Craig Overton smartly stopping it coming with a boundary, tumbling at long off.

  19. Postpublished at 13:19 BST

    Lancashire 99-3 v Somerset 182-7

    Stephen Moore
Former Lancashire opener on BBC Radio Lancashire

Lancashire don't want any rain at the moment, they have got the game under control.

If they can keep everything going like they are, up the intensity a tad and put Somerset under pressure in the field - they won't want to take it to the 20th over.

  20. Postpublished at 11 overs

    Lancs 99-3 (require 85 from 54)

Lewis Gregory is keeping Migael Pretorius back after his first and has turned to Ben Green for another tight over.

The mulleted seamer delivers with just six off it.

Liam Livingstone and Michael Jones do not look panicked by the task and certainly not trying to push it which suggests they believe that the hits will come.
