Ben Mayes made decent contact with it but the height meant that there was always a bit of a risk.

    Saif Zaib gets the breakthrough.

    Mayes c Scrimshaw b Zaib 9 (Northants 158-7 v Hants 93-3 - target 155, DLS)

Spin has got Northants right back into this game and Saif Zaib is back at the Birmingham End.

Leg-side single to Chris Lynn before Ben Mayes reverse sweeps and top edges to short third man!

A superb catch from George Scrimshaw running back towards the pavilion.

  5. Hants need 63 from 42 ballspublished at 11 overs

    Northants 158-7 v Hants 92-2 - target 155 (DLS)

Lloyd Pope with a third over and Chris Lynn sweeps two into a leg-side gap before driving a single to long-off.

Ben Mayes reverse sweeps straight to short third man, paddle sweeps for two, fine on the leg side, and tries again, gets it finer, and finds the fence!

    Important boundary.

It's certainly been made more interesting by that wicket of James Vince.

Can Northants put pressure on the youngster here?

So Lancashire weren’t allowed to play Salt, Jos and Wood who featured at OT last night. Yet Hampshire were allowed to use Bjorn Fortuin who was a member of the South Africa side in the same game?

Bopara trying to atone and he keeps cramping up the right-handers.

Chris Lynn cuts a single before Ben Mayes drives another down the ground.

Just another cut single to close the over and now 72 are needed from 48 balls.

  9. Mayes dropped on 1published at 9.1 overs

    Northants 158-7 v Hants 79-2 - target 155 (DLS)

Second over for Ravi Bopara and he drops a return catch off Ben Mayes!

Right hand out and it didn't stick at a good height.

    A good chance.

  10. Postpublished at 9 overs

    Northants 158-7 v Hants 79-2 - target 155 (DLS)

Ben Mayes drives at his first ball and is almost also caught at extra cover! Lands just short.

Gets off the mark with a pull to deep backward square.

Good over for Northants. Can they get back in the game?

Second over for Lloyd Pope of Australia and he gets James Vince to swing high to extra cover!

It went up a long way and Luke Procter claims the skier.

Northants needed something and there it is.

  12. Postpublished at 8 overs

    Northants 158-7 v Hants - 76-1 target 155 (DLS)

What can Ravi Bopara do to stem the tide here? Sliding some medium, at best, pace into these right-handers.

The problem is, Hampshire are so far ahead of the game.

As such, they work Bopara around for four singles, plus a wide, and take a steady over.

  13. 'Scintillating from Lynn'published at 17:36 BST 13 September

What a scintillating innings it's been from Chris Lynn. Very typical of the way he plays his cricket - hard and fast.

That is his 57th T20 50 in his 295th match.

Lloyd Pope's leg-spin into the attack.

But Chris Lynn is aiming at the Hollies Stand again and he sweeps for four through square leg.

James Vince clips two past short fine leg before driving a single wide of long-off.

Lynn then works a single to deep mid-wicket and brings up a 24-ball fifty. Superb striking.

  15. 'Hampshire are very much in control'published at 17:31 BST 13 September

At the moment you'd have to say that Hampshire are very much in control of this chase.

It could be that we're looking at a Somerset v Hampshire final later on or have Northants got something in them to upset the apple cart?

  16. Postpublished at 6 overs

So now Northants have some protection back - but they have to take wickets.

Just singles from the remainder of the over.

    93 from 72 balls needed.

  17. Postpublished at 5.2 overs

    Northants 158-7 v Hants 59-1 - target 155 (DLS)

Two balls of the fifth over to close out the powerplay.

James Vince gives himself a little room and then drives beautifully past extra cover. A joy to watch that stroke.

    A single ends the powerplay.

Luke Procter's sliders into the attack at the Pavilion End.

And the second of them is picked up perfectly over deep square and into the Hollies Stand.

Then pace off from Procter and Chris Lynn waits on the length ball and swings out to deep square again, this time for four.

Before another swing for six more! Low full toss and away it goes into the pop side stand again.

Great slugging from Lynn and this chase is in cruise control.

I did say that Toby Albert is not going to let Saif Zaib settle in. As soon as he was thrown that carrot to go over mid-on he's going to take up that challenge.

It was a good catch from David Willey in the end.
