So, what's the state of play?

The toss has formally been delayed, so we're now in a holding pattern. It's raining at the moment, and the only people visible only the pitch are a group of ground staff having a chat by the covered wicket.

20:57 BST is the absolute latest this game can start - that would be a five overs a side affair.

Eyes to the skies at Hove.

England have travelled to the south coast knowing a victory in today's T20 against New Zealand could help wrap up a second white ball series win in as many weeks.

But wet weather in the south might have put paid to those hopes - the covers are on and we near definitely won't be starting at 18:30 BST, if at all.

Are you ready for some rain watching? I know I am...
