  1. Postpublished at 14:21 British Summer Time 5 April

    Derbyshire 294-7 v Gloucestershire 222

Gloucestershire have made a wonderful start to their afternoon after a dismal morning.

Having taken their sole wicket with the final ball of the morning session, they've now picked up four quick scalps after the resumption as the hosts begin to wobble.

Marchant de Lange removed Brooke Guest (1) and Luis Reece (3), and Tom Price followed up with the wickets of Anuj Dal (1) and Martin Andersson (4).

Wayne Madsen is closing in on a ton but Derbyshire are making a mess of a strong position. They've lost five wickets for 19 runs.

  2. 'What a wonderful little stint for Ali'published at 14:18 British Summer Time 5 April

    Warks v Sussex 517-9

    Melinda Farrell
Sports broadcaster/journalist on BBC Radio WM

Taz Ali has two in two!

What a wonderful little stint this is for the 18-year-old.

It's some over from him. A terrific effort from an incredibly talented young man.

  3. Postpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 5 April

    Warks v Sussex 517-9

Jayden Seales is last man in for Sussex and the West Indian sees-out the hat-trick ball.

  4. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 5 April

    Hameed lbw b Potts 27 (Notts 62-1 v Durham 378)

    Now that's out!

Just three balls after missing out on Ben Slater's wicket, Matthew Potts makes the breakthrough.

He angles one into Haseeb Hameed and thuds into the Notts skipper's low on the back pad. He goes for 27 and Freddie McCann is in.

  5. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 5 April

    Robinson lbw b Ali 0 (Warwickshire v Sussex 517-9)

    Tazeem Ali on a hat-trick.

Ollie Robinson goes for a big pull shot with his first delivery and is struck on the back leg, thanks for coming Ollie but you'll have more important work to do with the ball in hand.

A fifth lbw of the innings.

  6. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 5 April

    Lamb LBW b Ali 35 (Warks v Sussex 517-8)

Tazeem Ali traps Danny Lamb in front of all three stumps as he attempts a reverse sweep.

Sussex added 85 runs for that eighth wicket.

  7. Postpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 5 April

    Notts 62-0 v Durham 378

Matthew Potts sinks to the turf in disbelief as Notts opener Ben Slater survives the closest of calls.

Potts is absolutely convinced he's taken the edge on its way through to wicketkeeper Ollie Robinson and runs to the slip cordon to join the celebrations.

Unfortunately for the Durham and England quick, the umpire doesn't agree.

Slater scratches at his mark and we continue.

  8. 500 up for Essexpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 5 April

    Essex 502-4 v Surrey

On and on and on go Essex.

The 500 comes up with Michael Pepper driving a Dan Lawrence long-hop to the cover boundary.

    Pepper on to 88 now.

  9. 50 opening stand for Nottspublished at 14:07 British Summer Time 5 April

Notts 54-0 trail Durham by 324

    Martin Emmerson
    BBC Radio Newcastle

Haseeb Hameed and Ben Slater have given Notts a good start here as they have moved to a 50 partnership inside 17 overs.

There's been little in the way of nervous moments so far either and it looks like it is a good batting track.

It is going to be a late finish after issues with the sprinklers delayed the start by 45 minutes this morning.

I called it Sprinklergate. A listener called in Watergate, but I don't think that's likely to catch on!

  10. 'We've not seen too many straight drives'published at 14:06 British Summer Time 5 April

    Notts 61-1 v Durham 378

    Dave Bracegirdle
    BBC Radio Nottingham commentator

We've not seen too many straight drives from either side.

There were two or three yesterday but on the whole, there's not been that many pitched up and driven straight back past the bowler.

  11. Postpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 5 April

    Notts 61-1 v Durham 378

Haseeb Hameed's eyes light up as Ben Raine serves up one short and wide of off stump.

The Notts batter won't miss out on that and cuts it past point to the short boundary. Meat and drink.

Seven off Raine's first over post-lunch.

  12. Postpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 5 April

    Warks v Sussex 516-7

Danny Lamb sweeps Tazeem Ali for four - one of those where the batter doesn't even bother running but holds the pose and admires the shot.

This is grim viewing for Bears fans - they are leaking runs and being batted out of the game.

  13. 6 runs

Postpublished at 14:02 British Summer Time 5 April

    Essex 494-4 v Surrey

Matt Critchley launches Dan Lawrence into the stratosphere for six - stop me if this gets boring...

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1.3 overs

    James Wharton lbw b Wheal 0 (Yorks 4-2 & 121 v Hants 249)

    And another.

Brad Wheal takes two in two and not much doubt about it unless he got a bit of bat on it. He didn't and he is walking.

Hat trick ball for Wheal sails harmlessly wide of Dawid Malan's hanging bat but that is a terrible start for the visitors.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 1.2 overs

    Finlay Bean c Abbott b Wheal 0 (Yorks 4-1 & 121 v Hants 249)

Terrible start for Yorkshire as Bean chips to mid on.

  16. 500 up for Sussexpublished at 13:59 British Summer Time 5 April

    Warks v Sussex 507-7

John Simpson produces another sumptuous drive for four and up comes the 500 for Sussex.

It's followed by another straight drive for four more - Sussex have added 30 runs since the interval - we've had three overs!

  17. 'Essex getting scoreboard ticking'published at 13:58 British Summer Time 5 April

    Essex 483-4 v Surrey

    Mark Church
    BBC Radio London commentator

Without doing anything too spectacular, you can just see that Essex are just beginning to get that scoreboard ticking a little bit more.

There's really nothing going on for the bowlers out there. For the Surrey fielders and bowlers, they haven't done this for six months, so it's getting used to being back out there for this amount of time.

I think in these situations you've just got to keep going.

  18. Afternoon session begins at Trent Bridgepublished at 13:58 British Summer Time 5 April

    Notts 54-0 v Durham 378

Matthew Potts gets us going after lunch after a frustrating morning for the Durham attack.

The England fast bowler was a trifle expensive, leaking 25 runs from his six overs, mainly to Ben Slater (32).

Haseeb Hameed leans into the second ball of the session and drives into the offside, picking up three runs to bring up the 50-run opening stand.

Slater milks another single before Hameed guides the ball backward of square on the off-side to move to 22.

  19. Postpublished at 13:55 British Summer Time 5 April

    Essex 483-4 v Surrey

Matt Critchley hits a boundary for EssexImage source, Rex Features

Horrible from Dan Lawrence - a long hop outside Matt Critchley's leg stump is put away for four more.

Surrey looking a little ragged and that's the three-figures up....for Lawrence's bowling analysis.

When I played club cricket if you conceded 100 runs as a bowler you had to buy the team a jug of beer - does that work in the Championship as well?

  20. Postpublished at 13:52 British Summer Time 5 April

    Warks v Sussex 489-7

In comes Ed Barnard and there goes John Simpson again, yet another straight drive for four - he plays that shot so well.

Sussex are not in the mood to declare.
