  1. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 10 September

    Guthrie LBW b Carlson 0 (Northants 356-8 v Glamorgan 467)

    Five-ball duck for Liam Guthrie.

He goes back and across to Kiran Carlson, who strikes the pad in front of middle and leg.

Ben Whitehouse joins Saif Zaib in the middle.

    Zaib is on 95.

  2. Postpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 10 September

    Surrey 246 & 239-2 v Warwickshire 248

Dan Lawrence and Ben Foakes are trying to put the pedal down after those six minutes off the field to recharge their batteries, you can feel it.

Lawrence steps across his crease to hook Ethan Bamber away for a four to fine leg before Foakes flashes at a cover drive off Michael Booth but gets the faintest of inside edges onto his pads, which saves him, and allows him to run a leg bye as the ball flies off towards backward point.

The champions lead by 237, though there is wet stuff falling out of the sky again...

  3. Close of play at Hovepublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sussex 37-1 - target 278

Sadly no play at all in what was shaping up to be an intriguing chase.

We'll try again tomorrow at 10.30 if conditions allow.

  4. Postpublished at 2 overs

    Leics 342 v Glos 482 & 5-0

Great shot. Chris Wright is too straight with his final ball of the over and Joe Phillips whips it away through square leg for four.

Wright needs four wickets to reach the 600 wickets milestone he has set his sights on achieving.

  5. Five-wicket haul for Mason Cranepublished at 14:19 British Summer Time 10 September

    Northants 351-7 v Glamorgan 467

That Lewis McManus dismissal gives Mason Crane figures of 5-109 in 19.4 overs.

  6. Hokey-cokey at The Ovalpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 10 September

    Surrey 246 & 234-2 v Warwickshire 248

Now then. We are back out mere moments after the players headed off.

There's an almighty downpour over London but Kennington might just have got lucky to catch the very edge of it.

Dan Lawrence is pleased to be back out there, clearly, he launches Ethan Bamber over the long-off boundary for six to move into double figures.

The lead is 232... how many will be enough for Surrey? 350? How soon can they get them?

  7. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:16 British Summer Time 10 September

    McManus c Cooke b Crane 3 (Northants 351-7 v Glamorgan 467)

Now then! Do Glamorgan need that second new ball?

Mason Crane picks up his fifth of the innings.

The leg spinner draws Lewis McManus forward into a flashing drive, edged to the keeper.

    Liam Guthrie to bat next.

  8. rain stops play

Rain stops play at Chelmsfordpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 447-8 v Durham 333

Poor Shane Snater, he's limped all the way to the crease and then has to turn around and head back again as the rain intensifies.

Looks like a heavy shower too, so might be a while before Essex get a chance to build on their 114-run advantage.

Welcome breather for the Durham bowlers though...

  9. Northants pass 350 at Wantage Roadpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 10 September

    Northants 350-6 v Glamorgan 467

The hosts still have a shot at a draw with one more partnership of note this afternoon.

The 350 mark is breached in the 74th over by Lewis McManus, who stretches and drives Mason Crane into cover for one.

But Glamorgan have the option of a new ball after 80 overs.

  10. Postpublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 10 September

    Leics 342 v Glos 482 & 0-0

Can Leicestershire's bowlers dig them out of a bit of a hole?

We believe Josh Hull can be involved again following his first-innings ban imposed following two deliveries which were deemed dangerous.

Ian Holland opens up, bowling to Joe Phillips.

  11. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 10 September

    Harmer b Raine 44 - Essex 447-8 v Durham 333

Simon Harmer gets an inside edge to one outside off stump from Ben Raine and his cameo is over for 44 as his bails are sent flying.

Shane Snater is coming out with a runner, having limped off on day one with an apparent calf injury.

  12. Still raining at Tauntonpublished at 14:11 British Summer Time 10 September

    Somerset 441-6 dec v Yorkshire

Zero sign of a resumption at Taunton where the covers are still in place.

The umpires went out briefly to take a look at the overhead conditions - they probably didn't like what they saw.

  13. wicket

WICKETpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 10 September

    Sharma c Ul Hassan b Carlson 25 (Northants 344-6 v Glam 467)

Short and sweet from Aadi Sharma - who faced just 19 balls.

He tries to belt off spinner Kiran Carlson over mid wicket and picks out Zain ul-Hassan in the deep.

Now Northants keeper Lewis McManus will bat.

  14. rain stops play

Rain stops play at The Ovalpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 10 September

    Surrey 246 & 228-2 v Warwickshire 248

Oh dear. These poor ground staff.

Surrey have extended their lead by nine runs to 226 in this micro-session, but they are off once again.

  15. 6 runs

for Doug Bracwellpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 447-7 v Durham 333

Doug Bracewell launches Callum Parkinson back over his head for a maximum as Essex may hay as the sun... oh, yes, it's nowhere to be seen.

If they'd had him in 20 overs ago they might have had another bonus point.

He has 21* at better than a run a ball.

  16. Bright start for Sharmapublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 10 September

    Glamorgan 467 v Northants 341-5

This has been a bright start from Aadi Sharma, who made his first class debut earlier this season.

He has already struck a huge six over square leg off Kiran Carlson and clipped leg spinner Mason Crane sweetly through mid wicket for four since the resumption less than 20 minutes ago.

Now he hits Crane for a six over mid wicket as the spinner bowls a long hop.

He has 23 not out off just 14 balls

  17. Postpublished at 14:05 British Summer Time 10 September

    Essex 438-7 v Durham 333

The drizzle is starting to fall at Chelmsford as Ben Raine returns to the attack... fitting.

Simon Harmer is seven shy of a half-century with Doug Bracewell 13*, having steered the hosts into a lead of 105.

  18. Postpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 10 September

    Surrey 246 & 227-2 v Warwickshire 248

Change of ball at The Oval, which feels rather like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic given the bank of black cloud which is hurtling towards SE11.

Dan Lawrence has 3* from 10 balls and Ben Foakes 20* from 36.

  19. 'Bracewell cameo can be useful'published at 14:02 British Summer Time 10 September

Doug Bracewell has really started well here with a couple of clubbing blows.

He is looking in good touch with that bat and if he can make a bit of a cameo here then it's going to be useful in accelerating the Essex lead because Simon Harmer is someone who can just accelerate almost at the flick of a switch.

  20. wicket

LEICESTERSHIRE ALL OUTpublished at 93.4 overs

    Leicestershire 342 v Gloucestershire 482

Ajeet Singh DaleImage source, Getty Images

    Quite some collapse.

Leicestershire were 320-4 two balls before lunch - and have lost their last six wickets for 22 from 9.5 overs.

Chris Wright is last to go, lbw to Ajeet Singh Dale, who finishes with 3-78. Bowling honours, though, go to Matt Taylor, who sent down 22 overs for his 5-70.

The Division Two leaders trail by 140.
