Goodness me! That was even slower than the last wicket and it has clattered.

    Rodrigues b Ranaweera 0 (120-4)

Wow. Erm... I didn't see this coming in my second over.

Another slow delivery and Jemimah Rodrigues has been bowled for a duck. Inoka Ranaweera wheels away in delight. She's on a hat-trick.

Penny for Harmanpreet Kaur's thoughts at the non-striker's end.

That was soft. Harleen Deol sank to her knees as the ball went up in complete despair.

Maybe the pace at the start made her believe it was much quicker than it actually was.

What a limp dismissal that was! It was as slow as slow could be.

Oops. So much for that half-century.

Harleen Deol plinks the ball right to Kavisha Dilhari, who takes what will probably be the easiest catch of the tournament.

    India's promising partnership is broken.

Of all the bowlers you would attack at, Chamari Athapaththu is not the highest on the list.

She has so much experience but maybe India are thinking if you put her under pressure, you put pressure on the rest of the team.

  7. Ind 120-2published at 25 overs

Oh dear. Captain Chamari Athapaththu brings herself into the attack but it doesn't have the desired effect for Sri Lanka.

Back-to-back boundaries from Harleen Deol, who's on the brink of a half-century (48 off 63), and 11 runs off the over.

    Thanks Mike.

Harmanpreet Kaur has added a bit of oomph to India's innings - striking above 100 for her 21 (18) - but she'll probably want her side to get north of 220 on the board.

  9. Ind 109-2published at 24 overs

Harmanpreet's more than OK to continue!

She smacks the first delivery since the interruption out to the point boundary and the fielder out there can't gather properly and sees the ball run onto the ropes.

A further two on the off side closes the over, and that's my cue to hand over to Elizabeth Botcherby for the remainder of this innings.

That looked like it hurt Harmanpreet Kaur so much. Put a helmet on!

In England, you have to wear one regardless of the format.

  11. Ind 103-2published at 23.4 overs

Harmanpreet Kaur brings up India's century from the first ball of Inoka Ranaweera's third over, sweeping for a single.

She adds two - the second of the innings - out past point, before top-edging into her chin on the sweep.

The India captain is not wearing a helmet, but doesn't seem to have sustained any notable damage and after a drink she's OK to continue.

This is a partnership that India need to keep together.

If they can't pick up boundaries, then how can they get twos? They need to up their run-rate ever so slightly.

  13. Ind 99-2published at 23 overs

Kavisha Dilhari struggles with her line a little, conceding consecutive wides on either side of the wicket.

Four singles from the over as India edge towards the hundred mark.

    Meanwhile here's Pratika Rawal's dismissal.

Vishmi Gunaratne's an expert juggler, available for booking for birthday parties and circus-themed events.

She's probably not going to be booked for anything staged by India's openers though.

  15. Ind 93-2published at 22 overs

A first four for Harmanpreet Kaur!

A big half-tracker from Inoka Ranaweera and the India captain hacks it away through square.

Somewhat aerial, but it's between two fielders.

Sri Lanka would have snapped your hand off if you had offered them this at the beginning.

Harmanpreet Kaur will be really important here for India.

  17. Ind 87-2published at 21 overs

Three singles off Kavisha Dilhari's fourth over.

She's gone for 0-18 thus far.

India have not been able to inject a huge amount of momentum.

They haven't exactly frozen at the occasion but they certainly have not risen to it.

  19. Ind 84-2published at 20 overs

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur comes to the crease wearing a cap, and immediately gets off the mark with a swept couple of runs to fine leg.

Remarkably, that's the first two of the innings.

Another slow delivery from Inoka Ranaweera and a catch taken on the rebound. It was a decent catch from Vishmi Gunaratne - she nearly palmed it to the floor!

A shot played out of frustration from Pratika Rawal but there was no pace at all.
