Deepti Sharma is such a good player of spin. She also has that reverse sweep shot which we have not seen from her yet but she may use later in the innings.

  2. Ind 153-6published at 31 overs

Four more for Amanjot Kaur, squeezing the ball fine past the wicketkeeper.

And then Deepti Sharma goes a'sweeping. It's only a single this time, but this pair are rotating the strike nicely as they try to rebuild India's innings.

    Nine from the over.

Lovely attacking intent from Amanjot Kaur. She has really established herself in the last year or so.

She is putting the pressure back on these Sri Lanka bowlers.

  4. Ind 144-6published at 30 overs

    Aaaaand we're back.

Amanjot Kaur gives it a bit of biff to finish the over with a four. A couple of bounces through mid-wicket and over the rope.

  5. Ind 139-6published at 29.3 overs

Inoka Ranaweera concedes three singles from her first three deliveries and then play is halted because the bails are lighting up for no reason whatsoever.

While we wait, here's a reminder of Ranaweera's three wickets in five balls which flipped the match on its head.

What's a good total for India from here? There's 19 overs remaining in their innings and they've got four wickets in hand.

Inoka Ranaweera will bowl the first over after drinks.

Sri Lanka have taken all of the pace off the ball and it has been so effective. They can really frustrate batters with slow spin.

  9. drinks break

    Drinks - Ind 136-6published at 29 overs

Evidently Jar, all Sri Lanka needed was to get rid of Mike Peter on comms and bring in me and you.

Deepti Sharma starts the 29th with a lovely shot, getting down on one knee and sweeping Chamari Athapaththu for four, and does it again to finish the over. That will steady a few Indian nerves.

Turned on the radio during my lunch break at the start of that over after following online the rest of the day - starting the World Cup with a three-for! Can’t get better can it?

Eeeeek. India nearly lose two wickets in two balls as Deepti Sharma top edges her attempted sweep.

The over ends with a run-out scare.

Richa Ghosh needed to have some patience but tried to whack that through the off side. Her defence is to attack, she feel like that works for her but that was a loose dismissal.

Amazing scenes! Another limp, soft dismissal.

    Ghosh c Prabodhani b Ghosh 2 (Ind 124-6)

Another wicket falls! And it's as tame as Harleen Deol's dismissal in the previous over.

Richa Ghosh needlessly goes after a short wide delivery from Chamari Athapaththu and picks out Udeshika Prabodhani at point.

Deary me. India have lost 4-4.

  15. Ind 122-5published at 26 overs

Well, that's livened things up a bit, hasn't it?

Three wickets in five balls, a hat-trick opportunity, and Harleen Deol, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Harmanpreet Kaur all back in the changing room.

Inoka Ranaweea has 4-21 from her four overs. Sri Lanka's tails are up. Wow.

Well if Harmanpreet Kaur didn't look happy after two wickets, I would not want to be in the India dressing room now!

She tried to guide the ball down to short third for some reason but basically fed it into the keeper's gloves. Sri Lanka are buzzing.

    Kaur c Sanjeewani b Ranaweera 21 (Ind 121-5)

    THREE WICKETS IN FIVE BALLS!

What is happening?! Harmanpreet Kaur has nicked an innocuous delivery through to wicketkeeper Anushka Sanjeewani.

India are in all sorts of bother. They've collapsed from 120-2 to 121-5.

  19. Ind 120-4published at 25.3 overs

No hat-trick. Deepti Sharma defends. Boooo.

Jemimah Rodrigues' first ball and she was trying to get forward but it looped past her bat. She looked completely baffled by it.

Harmanpreet Kaur has a look of steel on her face at the other end.
