This feels like an innings that started a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

You suspect that wicket is too little, too late for Sri Lanka.

Three overs remain in India's innings and with Deepti Sharma scoring at a run-a-ball, 250 remains on the cards.

Amanjot Kaur has gone on and capitalised a whole lot after being dropped and she has got India to a match-winning score.

I did think that one was going to be dropped as well!

Amanjot Kaur has finally lost her wicket. A good-running catch and a splendid, but fortunate knock comes to an end.

  6. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 43.4 overs

    Amanjot c Gunaratne b Prabodhani 57 (Ind 227-7)

    The partnership is broken!

It's a great catch by Vishmi Gunaratne in the deep, flying full length along the rope.

But what an innings that's been from Amanjot Kaur. She's made Sri Lanka pay for all of those dropped catches, enjoying a century stand with Deepti Sharma and scoring 57 (56).

  7. Ind 226-6published at 43 overs

Inoka Ranaweera is briefly interested in an lbw shout against Deepti Sharma. No one else cares.

The singles keep coming and this seventh-wicket partnership is now worth 102 (96).

Rain is pouring but the covers are staying put... for now.

This is actual rain - we are not in drizzle territory. I am surprised the players are still out there.

Six singles. The scoreboard keeps ticking along.

  11. Ind 219-6published at 41.4 overs

I'm feeling charitable, so I'm not going to call that a drop. Amanjot Kaur pings the ball into the deep but the fielder, running in, mis-times her dive and doesn't get her hands to it.

This is what I hate sometimes about cricket. Teams not being ruthless enough on the big teams. You give them nothing. Show absolutely no mercy, and you finish them off. Create an upset. SL have let India off the hook here.

Five sensible singles surround that dicey dot.

For those keeping score - Amanjot Kaur has been dropped on 18, 37, and 50.

She didn't really jump. It was above her head, two-handed and it's just gone through her fingers.

    OH NO.

Amanjot Kaur has been dropped AGAIN. She popped the ball back towards bowler Inoka Ranaweera, who couldn't hold onto a catch above her head.

  16. Postpublished at 14:51 BST 30 September

Right, everyone's back. The rain has claimed another two overs - it will be a 47-overs-per-side affair.

India are 210-6, with Amanjot Kaur on 50 (46) and Deepti Sharma on 37 (35).

While we wait for play to resume, here's Amanjot Kaur's wagon wheel. Her 50 off 46 balls has lifted India out of a spot of trouble.

The covers are coming off. Such fun.

  19. Postpublished at 14:46 BST 30 September

There's plenty of faffing with the covers. Are they staying on? Are they coming off? Who knows.

In the mean time, here's a reminder of that magic spell from Inoka Ranaweera...

  20. Postpublished at 14:45 BST 30 September

The players didn't leave the field with any particular urgency. Are they expecting a fast restart? Covers are still coming on.

So what's happened since the last rain delay?

Well, India collapsed from 120-2 to 124-6, with Inoka Ranaweera (4-36) taking three wickets in five balls, but an 86-run seventh-wicket partnership between Deepti Sharma and Amanjot Kaur (dropped twice) has swung the match back in India's favour.
