I would say Oval Invincibles had so many more options with the bat. They were able to come inside, get behind square leg with the sweeps and use the ramps for the off side and leg side.

The Welsh Fire batters have been a bit samey samey, meaning that Oval Invincibles have been able to set their field quite straight.

  2. Fire 100-6published at 15 balls left

Fire's get 100 runs on the board but no boundaries from the last three sets for them.

And Invincibles look to be cruising to their second victory of the season.

  4. Fire 97-6published at 20 balls left

    Need 54 more

Alice Capsey manages an inside edge off Katie George on to the pads and the ball rolls on to hit the off-stump. But the bails do not budge and there are smiles all around.

With 20 balls left of this game, a strategic time out is called.

  5. Fire 93-6published at 25 balls left

Georgia Davis makes her way to the middle.

And gets off the mark with a single towards mid-wicket.

She and Katie George will have to pull off a miracle here to help Fire avoid a fourth straight defeat.

A good bit of bowling from Sophia Smale.

The mid-off is a lot straighter than she normally would've been because, any other day of the week, that is a one-bounce four. The fielder was so straight on that, basically at the back of the bowler.

Smale is giving it the big licks here. She knows that is huge in the context of this game.

A huge cry from Sophia Smale!

It looked like that shot came straight off the middle of Sophia Dunkley's bat, but Welsh Fire's last hope is on her way back to the pavilion now.

    That's the big one!

And it's Sophia Smale who gets Sophia Dunkley.

The Fire batter dances down the track and heaves the left-armers over mid-on but Phoebe Franklin at long-on gets underneath it and sends Dunkley back to the dugout.

A great shot from Sophia Dunkley!

One thing she has worked very hard on over the last couple of years, as she has changed her technique, is accessing more on the off side. She is able to give herself a bit of room and open up the face of the bat to hit over cover.

But it's a good over for Fire.

Sophia Dunkley sends Amanda-Jade Wellington for a four off the second ball before Katie George adds another.

A big five to come from Amanda-Jade Wellington.

If she can get Sophia Dunkley here, it is pretty much game over.

Sophia Dunkley is giving Welsh Fire a slight sniff at the moment, but she is going to have to motor and get most of these runs for her team.

  12. Rockets take control against Bravepublished at 35 balls remaining

Men's competition: Trent Rockets 99-4 v Southern Brave (target 141)

Trent Rockets are on top again.

Tom Moores, who is a temporary replacement as a wicketkeeper following injuries to Tom Banton and Tom Alsop, is playing a great hand.

He's played some brilliant shots and is 27 not out from 17 balls. Banton is 40 not out at the other end.

Rockets need 42 off 35 balls.

Only three runs and a wicket to boot from Tash Farrant's second set.

That's frustrating for Sarah Bryce. It is a pretty simple catch at short third. She will be frustrated with her shot because it was a weak one.

Tash Farrant absolutely loved it! She is such a competitor.

We said Welsh Fire needed a partnership, but that one wasn't meant to be.

The wickets continue to tumble here.

Sarah Bryce tries to work Tash Farrant to third but there is a fielder there and it's Rachel Slater who scoops up the catch.

Sophia Dunkley is running out of support and fast.

A glorious shot! Sophia Dunkley was eyeing up that gap on the leg side, it is a strong area of hers with that she favours so much. She just swatted it into that gap.

That will make her feel a lot better after those couple of quick wickets.

  17. Fire 77-4published at 40 balls left

Sophia Dunkley relieves some pressure off Fire with a boundary through mid-wicket from Alice Capsey's fourth ball.

Sarah Bryce is her partner in the middle now and they have their work cut out to avoid another defeat for their side.

  18. How's stat?!published at 16:42 British Summer Time

    Ben Jones
    CricViz analyst

There's been a lot of turn for the spinners today. The average deviation has been 2.7 degrees, the second highest for any match in this edition of the women's Hundred.

Alice Capsey concedes just three runs and picks up a wicket from her first set.

Paige Scholfield with an absolute Superman catch!

She almost appeared from nowhere whilst everyone else was thinking it was going for four the second it left that bat. It probably deserved to go for a four to be honest!

Alice Capsey with a big old celebration there as well. That was a big wicket, there is so much pressure on Sophia Dunkley now.
