Some good intent from Nida Dar so far. She looks busy at the crease, and eager to get on with things.

Dar whacked Pakistan's second six earlier.

Sri Lanka are capable of chasing about 150, without a doubt. Anything less than 130 and I think it will be Sri Lanka's game to lose.

  3. Pak 70-4published at 12 overs

More communication issues between Tuba Hassan and Nida Dar with their running between the wickets.

Dar whips the fourth ball of Kavisha Dilhari's overs into the leg side and reckons there is three, but Hassan is having none of it.

Sri Lanka are definitely in the ascendency now. This last wicket does a lot for them. It will be interesting to see to see how Fatima Sana will go about things now. They need to be using this period of the game to be scoring runs and I think Fatima Sana should be putting herself in to bat.

  6. Pak 64-4published at 11 overs

Nida Dar is looking for a single at the end of Sachini Nisansala's over but is sent back by Tuba Hassan. The former Pakistan captain voices her displeasure at the reluctance of her partner to set off from the non-striker's end.

  7. dropped catch

Dar dropped on 15published at 10.3 overs

Sachini Nisansala puts down a caught-and-bowled chance.

Nida Dar chips the ball to the Sr Lanka spinner's left. Nisansala puts in the dive but can only parry it.

Pakistan are going too slowly and Sri Lanka are doing well in keeping them quiet. I think Chamari Athapaththu is doing really well as an all-rounder captain.

  10. drinks break

Pakistan 57-4 at drinkspublished at 15:42 British Summer Time

A bit of liquid refreshment for the players. The sun has gone down but it's still quite warm.

    Sohail c Perera b Dilhari 18 (Pak 57-4)

    Media caption,

Omaima is caught by Perera off the bowling of Dilhari

Omaima Sohail is late on a premeditated sweep shot to Kavisha Dilhari, and ends up clipping the ball into the hands of Hasini Perera, who takes it on the move at square leg.

  12. 6 runs

    Pak 56-3published at 9.3 overs

    Dar hits Dilhari for six

Sri Lanka's depth of spin options must make them a decent outside bet for this World Cup.

Kavisha Dilhari is the latest twirler into the fray, but a brilliant slog sweep from Nida Dar to her third ball of the over sails over the boundary for six.

    A cracking shot.

I like what Sri Lanka are doing here with their seamer and it seems to be working. I think we are going to see lots and lots of spin as well in this tournament.

  14. Pak 47-3published at 9 overs

Sachini Nisansala, collar buttoned all the way to the top of playing shirt, wheels away from around the wicket with her left-arm darts. She gives the Pakistan batters little width to work with, and just two singles are taken from the over.

  15. How's stat?!published at 15:36 British Summer Time

Pakistan don't have a single batter in the top 35 of the world T20 rankings, but have three bowlers in the top 35. They just need a total to give their bowling attack, which includes Sadia Iqbal, rated number three in the world, a fighting chance.

  16. Pak 45-3published at 8 overs

Nice shot from Omaima Sohail, who picks up a welcome boundary off Chamari Athapaththu by striking the Sri Lanka skipper's third ball uppishly through the covers for four.

  17. Pak 39-3published at 7.2 overs

This was an big 'ol hit from Muneeba Ali earlier.

They've lost three wickets, but three huge wickets as well. These batters are going to have to re-build a little bit, they don't want to be losing anymore wickets in the next five overs.

  19. Pak 38-3published at 7 overs

Omaima Sohail has been calmly going about her business, knocking it into the gaps. No boundaries so far from here so she's perhaps got one eye on anchoring this innings.

Both her and Nida Dar content to milk singles off Inoshi Fernando's second over.

  20. How's stat?!published at 15:25 British Summer Time

Pakistan batters have collectively scored at 6.7 runs per over in their 15 women’s T20 internationals since the start of 2024; they have not scored at a higher rate in another calendar year (also 6.7 in 2019).
