England have to go wild here. The quicker they can get these runs the better their net run rate. It would be a nice comfort for them going into their next game against Namibia.

By the way, how good was Adil Rashid?

I suggest we all belt up here. Everything must go from an England point of view.

Huge overreaction before this match - England lost one match, and that to Australia, after minimal preparation. Dodgy format, only four matches to progress

    Thank you, Michael.

Would the real England please stand up?

Unlucky with the weather against Scotland, poor against Australia, ruthless against Oman (up to now, anyway).

    It's exhausting keeping up.

Almost time for what's quite likely to be a quick chase.

Not much time for premier whimsy merchant Stephan Shemilt to get going, but I'm sure he's got something for you.

England fast bowler Mark Wood: "We had a point to prove. We trained really well and showed character and resilience.

"Toppers was brilliant, coming into the team. We took our catches and stayed behind the line.

"It was a mixture of trying to push them back, then having the awareness to go full. Adil is a real asset for us. He’s a magician, great to have in our side.

"I’ll get my pads on and be ready to go."

By my calculations, if England chase this target in 32 balls they will have a better net run-rate than Scotland.

Some tasty figures for England's bowlers - England seamers Topley, Archer and Wood conceded 12 runs apiece, and while the former went wicketless, the latter two took three each.

But Adil Rashid was the pick, with 4-11 from his four overs.

England have got part one of this job done. In 13.2 overs for 47 runs. This leaves England with a fine opportunity.

  16. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 13.2 overs

Shoaib Khan c Buttler b Archer 11 (Oman 47 all out)

    And that's that.

Shoaib Khan can't handle Jofra Archer's pace and skews the ball up behind the wicket, where Jos Buttler takes the catch running back.

Shoaib departs as the only Oman batter to make double figures and that's the lowest score by any side against England at T20 World Cups.

  17. Oman 47-9published at 13 overs

Last bat Bilal Khan has to survive Rashid's final delivery, with the England spinner in the hunt for a five-fer.

A cross-batted shot brings a single, the ball droping a little shout of the square leg fielder.

Rashid finishes with 4-11 from his four overs - not too shabby.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 12.5 overs

    Kaleemullah b Rashid 5 (Oman 47-9)

    It's that googly again.

Inside edge from Kaleemullah and that's the stumps splayed. Oman are almost cooked.

A lot of single figure scores so far, only Shoaib Khan has managed to reach double figures.
