    Lancs 263 v Leics 440-6

Two sixes to tell you about at Old Trafford!

First, captain Peter Handscomb takes on Saqib Mahmood and just clears a fielder on the rope with a well-timed pull-shot for his first maximum of a terrific innings.

Then, Logan van Beek's beautiful lofted straight drive goes back over bowler Luke Wells' head for another six just two overs later.

Handscomb is currently 121 not out while van Beek is 25 not out.

The visitors are really motoring now, they are approaching a 200 run lead here.

A single off Ryan Higgins brings up a half century for Kiran Carlson.

The 26-year-old had his stroke of luck when put down at first slip on 17 off Dane Paterson but he has made the most of it to push on.

Edge - but the ball doesn't come close to carrying to Matt Critchley at third slip and Matthew Waite survives.

He flicks Jamie Porter down to fine leg where Kasun Rajitha fumbles the fielding and the Worcestershire batter comes back for a second.

    He is 22 not out.

  4. Postpublished at 17:36 British Summer Time 20 April

    Durham 427 v Yorks 307 & 74-2 (trail by 46 runs)

A bit of excitement out in the middle as three groundstaff are on with spade, bucket and a thumper, respectively, to work on the crease where the bowler's lead foot is landing.

Brendan Doggett has a little test of the offending area after they have departed before handing his cap to the umpire. Dawid Malan, unbeaten on 19, is in his sights 22 yards away.

  5. 100 up for Warwickspublished at 17:32 British Summer Time 20 April

    Warwicks 93 & 102-4 v Notts 367

A cut shot from Ed Barnard earns his first three runs of his second innings and moves Warwickshire past the 100 mark.

The hosts still trail Nottinghamshire by 172 runs with six wickets left.

  6. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 17:31 British Summer Time 20 April

    Worcs 157-5 - target 295

Unfair, really, to call that a dropped catch.

Matthew Waite slashes at a ball from Kasun Rajitha and a big edge flies to second slip where Simon Harmer stretches up but can only get his fingertips to the ball.

The lights are now on at Chelmsford.

  7. Bad light stops playpublished at 17:29 British Summer Time 20 April

    Hants 336 v Somerset 184 & 103-1

We are yet to return to the field in Southampton after the umpire brought the players off around half an hour or so now for bad light.

As soon as we get more news, we will let you know.

  8. 50 partnership for Derbyshirepublished at 17:28 British Summer Time 20 April

    Derbys 307 & 151-2 v Northants 500-8 dec

Caleb Jewell drives leg-spinner Calvin Harrison.

A good save prevents him finding the boundary but he and Wayne Madsen scamper through for three and post a 50 stand off 55 balls.

Derbyshire now only 42 in arrears.

  9. Postpublished at 17:27 British Summer Time 20 April

    Durham 427 v Yorks 307 & 71-2 (trail by 49 runs)

Eight off that Brendan Doggett over which was positively manic but back to normal against Colin Ackermann in the next with a couple of singles bookending four balls of resolute defence.

Yorkshire are 71 from 33 overs still trailing by 49 but clearly do not want to invite any more pressure on their batting tonight and are looking to suck all the life out of Durham and the game.

    It's working!

  10. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:26 British Summer Time 20 April

    Shaikh lbw O'Neill 27 (Warwicks 93 & 94-4 v Notts 367)

A fourth wicket goes down at Edgbaston and it's Fergus O'Neill who strikes.

His ball over the wicket beats the bat of Hamza Shaikh, hitting him on the pads, and the umpire has his finger up once more.

    Important wicket for the visitors.

  11. Postpublished at 17:24 British Summer Time 20 April

    Worcs 155-5 - target 295

Brett D'Oliveira stands flamingo-like on one leg in the KP style to whip Jamie Porter away through square leg for four.

He is 33 not out and Matthew Waite has 18.

  12. Postpublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 20 April

    Warwicks 93 & 94-3 v Notts 367

That's much better from Dan Mousley who flicks the ball off his toes for four runs.

Warwickshire have now surpassed their first-innings total for the loss of just three wickets.

  13. Close of play at Canterburypublished at 17:22 British Summer Time 20 April

    Kent 393 v Gloucestershire 472 & 112-2

No play possible after tea at the Spitfire Ground where rain forces the umpires to call an early halt to proceedings.

Gloucestershire will start day four with a lead of 191 and unless they can press on rapidly in the morning with a view to a declaration, it's hard to see this ending in anything other than a draw.

Ben Charlesworth made 58 for the visitors but the batting star on day three was Kent opener Ben Compton, who batted for over 400 minutes for his 178.

  14. 300 runs

400 up for Leicestershirepublished at 17:16 British Summer Time 20 April

    Lancs 263 v Leics 401-6

The 400 is up for Leicestershire at Old Trafford as they move into a 138 run lead against their hosts Lancashire.

Peter Handscomb remains at the crease 105 not out.

  15. 150 runs

up for Worcestershirepublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 20 April

    Worcs 150-5 - target 295

Jamie Porter overpitches and Matthew Waite finds the mid-wicket boundary before adding a single to take the total up to 150. Over half-way to the target now. There are 21 scheduled overs remaining.

  16. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:15 British Summer Time 20 April

    Kellaway lbw b Roland-Jones 0 (Middx 470-9d v Glamorgan 199 & 148-5)

And another... he's on a hat trick.... which is kept out by Chris Cooke.

But that is a huge breakthrough over from the Middlesex captain with Glamorgan still trailing by 123 runs and only five wickets still standing.

  17. Postpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 20 April

    Warwicks 93 & 89-3 v Notts 387

An extravagant attempt at a heave-ho over long-on from Warwickshire's Dan Mousley completely misses the ball and almost sees him clean bowled.

If he'd connected with that, I think it would have gone for an eight!

  18. wicket

WICKETpublished at 17:14 British Summer Time 20 April

    Ingram b Roland-Jones 19 (Middx 470-9d v Glamorgan 199 and 148-4)

That is sweet for Middlesex on several levels.

Firstly, Ingram had edged between keeper and first slip in the previous over on 14 off the bowling Higgins.

Second it was Ingram who is a key bat for Glamorgan.

And thirdly it was a beauty, beating Ingram's misaligned defences and clipping the top of off.

  19. 'Could we still be playing if we had a pink ball?'published at 17:13 British Summer Time 20 April

    Hants 336 v Somerset 184 & 103-1 - bad light stopped play

    Kevan James
    BBC Radio Solent commentator

We all want to start a four-day game knowing there will be a result. We want to see some good cricket over the four days and whoever wins, wins and that's fine.

I just think in this situation we could play if we went to a pink ball. It might be to Somerset's detriment because they look pretty happy out there, they don't really look like getting out.

Over a season you'd hope it evens itself out but at least we keep playing cricket and we don't have this situation where yes it's gloomy but actually could we still be playing if we had a pink ball?

  20. Postpublished at 17:10 British Summer Time 20 April

    Worcs 145-5 - target 295

Essex are testing the Worcestershire batsmen out with an occasional short delivery now.

No major alarms for the Pears, though, and Brett D'Oliveira square cuts Kasun Rajitha for four to advance to 29 not out.

You start to wonder whether it's soon going to be Simon Harmer time again. Or perhaps Matt Critchley, who has yet to turn his arm over in this game.
