Disappointed to lose those three wickets so cheaply. I reckon we need about 50-60 more to give us a good chance of bowling out the Windies.

England will want at least another 70 or 80.

It was another really interesting morning session in a fascinating Test match. It just needs a thrilling conclusion now.

    Thanks, Mike.

Having bossed that session and looked entirely comfortable for the first hour and a half, England lost 3-19 to leave the door ajar for West Indies.

Harry Brook batted superbly to reach his first home Test century, while Joe Root is still there, unbeaten on 81.

With a lead of 307, Ben Stokes' side remain in control of this match but the second new ball is just around the corner and the Windies have got the opportunity to put the hosts under a bit more pressure.

Exactly one hundred runs from session, just the eight boundaries in 25 overs.

England steadily accumulated, taking their lead to 307.

With this pitch looking pretty flat, you'd suspect they'll want to add another hundred runs to that before considering a declaration.

To see how things go, here's Sam Drury to take you through the afternoon.

Well, the game is still alive. England can't quite put this West Indies side to bed, they haven't in that session.

West Indies have fought really well.

England's lead is good but they haven't crushed West Indies yet. England are still favourites, but they will want more runs this afternoon.

That was a tricky little session for Jamie Smith before lunch, and he had looked pretty secure.

    Smith c Da Silva b Sinclair 6 (Eng 348-6)

Smith goes from the final ball of the session!

A flurry of wickets before the interval, the England keeper the latest to go as he offers an edge to Sinclair, taken by Da Silva standing up behind the stumps.

England still in a strong position, but they'll be disappointed to be into the tail after losing three wickets for 19 runs.

You always know as a captain when the media are starting to talk about declaring because you suddenly start appearing on the big screen a lot.

I always thought 'I don't know you're showing me, I'm miles off declaring at the moment'.

That was normally because 1. I wanted to finish my crossword and 2. I wanted more runs.

  9. Eng 344-5published at 75 overs

Jamie Smith gets runs on the board straight away, moving the ball to deep third for two.

Root closes out the over by ducking under a bouncer.

I don't think I've ever seen Ben Stokes stand there for quite as long. He stood there in disbelief.

He couldn't have picked out the man any better.

The lead is 300 but England have to keep adding any runs. There isn't any demons in this pitch, you feel it will stay the same for the next two days.

Ben Stokes can't believe it. He stood there for a moment and then dragged himself off.

He hit it pretty well but it was straight to the fielder.

Jayden Seales is delighted with that.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 74.1 overs

    Stokes c A Joseph b Seales 8 (Eng 341-5)

    Caught in the deep!

Stokes goes to pull Seales on the swivel, and just turns the ball straight to Alzarri Joseph at deep backward square.

It didn't get especially high, it was just guided straight to the fielder.

  13. Eng 341-4published at 74 overs

A first maiden of the match for Kevin Sinclair, bowling to Joe Root.

Indeed, the first maiden for any spinner in this match.

  14. Eng 341-4published at 73 overs

Just the single from the Seales over, a Joe Root nudge to cover.

That takes England's lead to 300. You'd fancy them accelerate after lunch, although with plenty of time left in the game they can afford to continue to accumulate steadily.

This side has definitely changed how they go about their cricket. In recent times they would have definitely gone harder than they have today.

By England's recent standards it has been quite a quiet session.

  17. Eng 340-4published at 72 overs

England take Kevin Sinclair for three singles, moving their lead to 299.

  18. Eng 337-4published at 71 overs

Stokes faces five dot balls from Seales before crunching his final delivery through the covers for four.

His first boundary of the day.

  19. Eng 333-4published at 70 overs

Ben Stokes gets underway, turning Sinclair square for two.

Incidentally, the stands are only half-full at Trent Bridge - if you're in the area, get yourself down there. Plenty of cricket left to be enjoyed today.

I love that reaction from Jayden Seales. He hasn't bowled his best, had a tough match but he gets a wicket and shows how much it means to him.

He showed his passion. Test cricket doesn't always go right but the one thing you can control is your attitude.
