That was impressive from Markram because the ball was moving. He was still moving but hit it in to out. That takes great skill.

The 19-year-old Lhuan-dré Pretorius comes in at number three for South Africa.

He's played two Tests and eight international T20s since making his Proteas debut in June.

He gets a first ball single defending a short ball from Wood, before Aiden Markram gets the first four of the match driving through mid-off.

It was a good, quick delivery. Luke Wood gets the ball full and shapes it towards the slips. With it being a bit greasy the ball kissed through nicely.

    Ryan Rickelton goes first ball!

Luke Wood shapes the ball away and the South Africa wicketkeeper feathers an edge behind to Jos Buttler.

An early wicket - will it start a run of dismissals like in Southampton on Sunday?

Right then, time to get going.

Luke Wood bowling to South Africa skipper Aiden Markram, who guides the first delivery to backward point.

He takes a single and Ryan Rickelton comes on strike.

I’m sure there’s a champion out there who’s had dinner, took his time, maybe a pint or two and is just turning up to meet his friends for the start of this match.

The management will have an eye on the World Cup in India but Harry Brook is very clear on game by game. For a young player, it is fascinating to see how clear he is with his training. That is why he is such a good player.

Harry Brook noted that England's XI have a lot of T10 experience with seven of their XI having featured in franchise T10 competitions, amassing 204 appearances between them.

Dewald Brevis (nine matches) and Donovan Ferreira (17 matches) are the only players in the South Africa side with T10 franchise experience.

Does it really take 14 minutes to get ‘ready’ for a toss? Then does it really take 30 minutes to start playing? Surely the conversation is: “Right, toss in 5 minutes, then batting team be ready to go 20 minutes later.” Could easily save 20 minutes - aka two overs per side.

South Africa captain Aiden Markram: "We would have bowled as well. It goes without saying in a game like this but hopefully we can get some runs on the board. We want to keep building on what we have managed to do well. We have a couple of new faces. It is great to buzz off their energy. We have gone with five seamers and no spinners."

England captain Harry Brook after winning the toss: "We feel chasing is the best option. It's been a long day and we have a lot of lads who have played T10 so we will pick their brains.

"Jofra misses out and Luke Wood comes in. We felt like we wanted Luke to come in and hit the poles [stumps] early with his swing."

    So, the cricket!

South Africa captain Aiden Markram calls incorrectly and Harry Brook decides England are going to bowl first then chase.

    Not exactly unexpected.
