The round the wicket tactic working wonders for Kemp there. She averages 23.20 against right handers in T20 cricket from round the wicket, compared to 25.90 from over the wicket.

Nat Sciver-Brunt breathes a sigh of relief!

Anneke Bosch had edged the previous ball for four, but gets a bit carried away with her fast start. She takes an almighty heave at Freya Kemp and loses her stumps.

Frustrating for South Africa, with three players getting out after making a promising start.

You don't see Nat Sciver-Brunt drop many catches so she will be disappointed. She would have taken that in training 99 times out of 100.

    Oh, no!

Catching continues to haunt England. Sarah Glenn thinks she's got her immediate revenge as Anneke Bosch top-edges a sweep, which goes straight up in the air towards Nat Sciver-Brunt at square leg.

It's the simplest of chances for one of England's best fielders but it somehow slips out.

    A tough over for Glenn.

    Hello!

Anneke Bosch whacks the first six of the innings straight down the ground.

Tricky start for Glenn here, 10 runs coming from her first two balls.

  6. SA 47-2published at 7.1 overs

Anneke Bosch gets her first boundary, with a back-foot punch past point for four.

It beats both fielders at point and short third, so Sarah Glenn doesn't look particularly thrilled.

Very clever bowling from Sophie Ecclestone. She held her pace back and she could feel that Tazmin Brits was going to come down the pitch, having just got that boundary. Sophie always keeps calm out there but you can tell she loved that piece of bowling.

Spin has dominated proceedings at East London in Women's T20 cricket. They average just 19.14 compared to pace bowlers 35.21 historically.

    Welcome, Sune Luus!

Sophie Ecclestone gets one to turn and bounce past the outside edge. This won't be easy for an already depleted South African line-up.

Brits st Jones b Ecclestone 15 (SA 43-2)

    Spoke too soon!

That is why Sophie Ecclestone is the best in the world. She corrects her length immediately, dragging it slightly shorter and quicker, and tempts Tazmin Brits down the pitch.

Brits completely loses her shape and Amy Jones does the rest.

Lovely innovation from Tazmin Brits, who has got to take the upper hand now without Wolvaardt.

She shuffles across her stumps and sweeps Sophie Ecclestone for four welcome runs.

It's the huge wicket which every team looks to take early; Laura Wolvaardt has been in fine form lately. England can now try to break down that fragile South Africa middle order, which is lacking Marizanne Kapp, so they will be feeling positive.

  13. SA 38-1published at 6 overs

Anneke Bosch, the hero of South Africa's epic semi-final win over Australia last month, is in at three.

A brilliant over from Charlie Dean to close the powerplay, with just three singles and the huge wicket coming from it.

Without Marizanne Kapp or Chloe Tryon, this is going to be a big test for the Proteas' batting depth.

    Wolvaardt b Dean 22 (SA 35-1)

Charlie Dean gets the big wicket!

Laura Wolvaardt tries to make the most of the final over of the powerplay with a premeditated skip down the pitch to the off-spinner.

Dean sees her coming and fires it in quicker, and the South Africa captain is cleaned up.

England have gone for a three-spin attack and they will try to do that as much as they can. It will be interesting to see who will keep their spot, between Sarah Glenn and Charlie Dean, if England decide to bring in a seamer in Lauren Filer.

  16. SA 35-0published at 5 overs

A couple of nicely-timed strikes into the leg side from both openers but they only manage to pick out the boundary riders.

A tidy over from England's all-rounder, with one more over of the powerplay left for South Africa to try and attack.

  17. SA 29-0published at 4 overs

More spin, this time from Charlie Dean.

Tazmin Brits takes some of the pressure off her opening partner, who has done most of the scoring so far, by whacking the off-spinner straight down the ground for her first boundary.

Sophie Ecclestone is the best bowler in the world but she didn't have the best World Cup. Her standards are so high and she has dropped off them slightly over the past few months.

  19. SA 23-0published at 3 overs

Interesting move from Heather Knight, turning to her trump card Sophie Ecclestone very early.

Ecclestone starts well, just one run scored from her first five balls, before Laura Wolvaardt eases the pressure with a thumping slog-sweep past mid-wicket for four.

Laura Wolvaardt is looking so good, if you give her any width she is going to smash it away to the boundary. This opening pair is arguably the best in the world at the moment, they are so dangerous when they are on their A game.
