Today was the seventh time Tahlia McGrath has fallen to Sophie Ecclestone is women's internationals - the bowler to dismiss her on most occasions in her career. For Sophie Ecclestone, she's dismissed only Chloe Tryon (10), Beth Mooney (9) and Maddy Green (8) more often in her international career.

Sophie Ecclestone has asked a few questions here today. She's slowed down the pace a little bit and is just getting a little bit of drop on the ball.

  3. Aus 435-7published at 127 overs

    Lead by 265

After Beth Mooney works a single, Alana King pounces on a short ball from Sophie Ecclestone to get off the mark.

Cut through point for two. Ecclestone finishes the over with a good one that just beats the edge.

  4. Aus 432-7published at 126 overs

    Lead by 262

Still no Ellyse Perry for Australia after she sustained a hip injury while fielding. It's Alana King in at nine for the home side.

Three dot balls end a successful Lauren Filer over.

It wasn't the best shot from Kim Garth. It was well wide but she still tried to have a waft. She'll be disappointed.

It was an enterprising attempt but an unsuccessful one. Australia haven't been able to put their foot down today.

    Garth c Jones b Filer 0 (Aus 432-7)

    Edged and gone!

Full, wide and enticing the drive from Lauren Filer. Kim Garth takes the bait and nicks through to Amy Jones.

Two quick wickets for England. Will we see Ellyse Perry now?

There's a little bit more deviation in this pitch than there was yesterday. The Australians will be thinking that it's set up nicely for them later.

  9. Aus 431-6published at 125 overs

    Lead by 261

Sophie Ecclestone has three wickets now and it is nearly four as new batter Kim Garth pushes at her first ball.

That wasn't too far away from Tammy Beaumont at short leg.

    Wicket maiden for Ecclestone.

That's an ironic celebration from England.

Interesting move there. Tahlia McGrath should certainly be disappointed with herself. It was a touch slower from Sophie Ecclestone but it was horrible from Tahlia McGrath, she wasn't set up.

Let's just celebrate the fact that England caught it.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 124.4 overs

    McGrath c Bell b Ecclestone 12 (Aus 431-6)

Lauren Bell takes a dolly at mid-on.

An early wicket for England and a catch taken, both of which should help settle them down after yesterday's struggles.

Tahlia McGrath tries to get things moving as she advances to Sophie Ecclestone but gets nowhere near the pitch of the ball.

As a result, she ends up chipping it tamely to Bell, who makes no mistake with the catch.

Since that big rush of emotion when Beth Mooney reached her century in the first over, it has been a pretty sedate start to day three.

The way Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath are batting suggests Australia plan on batting for a good while yet.

It was dreadful from England yesterday. I just think some of the fundamentals aren't there.

  15. Aus 428-5published at 123 overs

There is plenty of turn on offer now. Sophie Ecclestone isn't a huge turner of the ball but the left-arm spinner is getting it to rip on this day three surface.

Good news for England now. Less so when they come to bat. Alana King will be licking her lips.

England like Lauren Filer's point of difference. She's quick and unsettles batters with her pace and bounce.

I don't mind her opening the bowling but I like the short and sharp spells that Heather Knight tends to give her. As long as your fields are right you can tell her to make some things happen. Consistency will come with the more she plays.

  17. Aus 426-5published at 122 overs

    Mooney 101, McGrath 10

Lauren Filer starts from the other end and the England seamer starts well.

Just a couple of singles from the over. How long before Australia really look to accelerate?

  20. 100 runs

100 for Beth Mooneypublished at 121 overs

    Aus 424-5

That's the moment for Beth Mooney!

After being beaten again by Sophie Ecclestone, there is a delay while the umpire cuts a loose bit of seam off the ball and that delay seems to help the Australia regroup.

A drag down from Ecclestone also helps. Mooney cuts it away and is back for two.

She is the first Australian woman to score a century in all three formats and gets a brilliant ovation from the MCG crowd having done so.
