McGrath st Ghosh b Yadav 32 (Aus 79-3)

    What a response!

McGrath is lured down the track but she misses a wild heave, and the keeper takes care of business with a nice stumping.

Harmanpreet will be very, very relieved...

    Harmanpreet Kaur shells a dolly!

Tahlia McGrath drills the ball out to the India skipper at cover, and she drops a simple catch.

And off the next she gets a finger tip to a steepler - not her night at the moment.

It hit the back pad, and the replay reveals it was missing the stumps.

Renuka Thakur's spell is over, and she's limping off alongside a physio. She may have done herself a mischief while appealing just now.

  5. India reviewpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time

Renuka Thakur hits McGrath on the pad with a full toss. It's given not out, but India are convinced and they opt for a review

I think this first innings is in the balance. The fact that Australia have rebuilt after those early wickets in the powerplay, means India are going to have to take consistent wickets to keep that run rate down.

It's almost a brilliant catch! The crowd was roaring with enthusiasm but it was just a foot or so short.

  8. Aus 68-2published at 10.3 overs

Pooja Vastrakar races around to her right on the square leg boundary as Grace Harris sweeps airily.

The ball drops just in front of her but it was a fine effort to get anywhere near it, and she stops a boundary into the bargain.

  9. Aus 65-2published at 10 overs

Tahlia McGrath tries a reverse sweep to Deepti Sharma - did that scrape the glove? There's no appeal, but that's a good take by keeper Richa Ghosh.

The end of the over marks the halfway point of the innings, which is 'celebrated' by the lights flashing on and off repeatedly for 30 seconds in headache-inducing fashion.

This partnership is motoring now. The batting line-up in this side is so strong, they just keep on coming.

  11. Aus 60-2published at 9 overs

Tahlia McGrath lifts a drive high over mid off to the rope and that's a productive over for Australia, which ends with a bit of needle between McGrath and Arundhati.

If she had leant forward slightly she may have got it. You need to take those opportunities against Australia because they don't give you many.

  13. dropped catch

Dropped catchpublished at 15:42 British Summer Time

Deepti Sharma spills a chance backwards of point when Harris slices Arundhati away. She hit that hard, but you can put that in the file marked "tough but catchable".

It really feels like a different pitch here tonight compared to the other matches we have seen at Sharjah and it definitely makes the difference and excites the game.

  15. Aus 50-2published at 8 overs

Vastrakar's response is spicy - a rapid bouncer that has McGrath ducking for safety.

Then Harris cleverly diverts a leg-side delivery past the keeper to the fine leg boundary.

There's something happening in every over at the moment.

  16. How's stat?!published at 15:38 British Summer Time

With that boundary Tahlia McGrath has become the fastest woman to 1,000 runs for Australia in T20 internationals, reaching the milestone in her 37th innings - one fewer than Meg Lanning.

  17. Aus 46-2published at 7.2 overs

Pooja Vastrakar implores umpire Kim Cotton for LBW against Tahlia McGrath when she is hit on the back leg. It looks high and they opt not to review - rightly so, the replay shows it was going over the top of leg.

McGrath responds in style, drilling the next ball past point for four.

India have had a decent start but Australia are just pulling it back slightly. They need to use the support they have here tonight as their twelfth player to get that win.

  19. Aus 42-2published at 7 overs

Arundhati Reddy's first over is worked around for five runs.

It's almost a full stadium in Sharjah, finally we have a great atmosphere to accompany what could be a close contest.

India made a great start, but Australia's decision not to review Wareham's LBW may come back to haunt them.
