India will know exactly what they need to do. They had a slow start in the tournament but they've been building each game. I think India actually bring their best cricket against the best teams, but it is no mean feat beating this Australia side.

Dusk is falling in Sharjah, and there are a lot more fans - mostly barracking for India - now inside the ground that hosted England's win over Scotland earlier on.

The teams are out, and we're having the anthems with Australia first.

    India v Australia (15:00 BST)

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur: "Its fine, we have to keep them to a short total so we can chase it as soon as possible. We had two practice sessions here and we have assessed the wicket as much as possible, we have made some plans and we hope to stick to them.

"We have that confidence that we can beat them, we have in the past and we want to play as well as possible."

Australia: Beth Mooney (wk), Grace Harris, Ellyse Perry, Phoebe Litchfield, Ash Gardner, Georgia Wareham, Tahlia McGrath (c), Annabel Sutherland, Sophie Molineux, Megan Schutt, Darcie Brown.

Alyssa Healy is out with the injury she suffered last time out, so Beth Mooney takes the wicketkeeping gloves. Grace Harris comes in to open with Mooney, while Darcie Brown replaces Tayla Vlaeminck, who dislocated her shoulder against Pakistan.

India: Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh (wk), Deepti Sharma, Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Shreyanka Patil, Radha Yadav, Renuka Thakur.

Pooja Vastrakar gets the nod over Sajeevan Sajana for India. There was also a late change shortly before the start of the match, with Asha Sobhana picking up an injury in the warm-up and replaced by Radha Yadav.

  7. 'A case of play on'published at 14:48 British Summer Time 13 October

Australia skipper Tahlia McGrath: "We are going to bat first and try to put a score on the board, then defend from there.

"We are pretty lucky that it's our third game here. It looks like a slightly better wicket tonight than what we have played on in the past so we'll have a look at conditions, adapt and communicate as a team as to what is working.

"Injuries? It's case of play on. At the moment we've got a really important game ahead of us and then we'll get around the other two and see where they are after that."

  9. Postpublished at 14:27 British Summer Time 13 October

    India v Australia (15:00 BST)

Australia all but into the semi-finals and a win today should see them top Group A.

Indianeed a win but they could still go through even if they lose, in that scenario they would be relying on Pakistan beating New Zealand while staying ahead on net run rate.

Either way, there's a lot riding on this one tonight.
