This feels very much to me that India are on top on a surface that we've never seen.

  2. drinks break

    Ind 81-3published at 10 overs

That over brings up the halfway mark of this first innings and 13 runs come from it, including those three fours from Pant.

He is now on 34, five fours including those three.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav is on five, although he has only faced four balls so far.

The crowd has really come to life this over.

  4. Ind 80-3published at 9.4 overs

Three in a row from Rishabh Pant.

Less creative than the last, but very clinical from India's wicketkeeper, finding the gap in the field at fine leg.

Haris Rauf needs to come up with something different.

Two fours in two balls, the crowd erupts, waving flags.

Just for a moment I thought that they were at a chance for taking a catch.

    Innovative.

  7. Ind 76-3published at 9.3 overs

Now, Rishabh Pant is cooking up a storm.

He goes back-to-back with fours, a very improvised flick down the leg side and it runs away to the rope.

It's a pretty safe option for Pant, that ball was there to be hit, slightly too full.

  9. Ind 72-3published at 9.2 overs

Of Rishabh Pant's boundaries today, this one is comfortably his most convincing yet.

Hit on the up and over extra cover, Pant is finally starting to look quite set.

    This game hooks both nations.

Fans are packed into the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium in Pakistan, while India fans are taking up every space in a bar in Bengaluru.

  11. Ind 68-3published at 9 overs

Six runs come from Imad's first over with the ball and Pakistan will be pleased with that.

Another chance to get Pant out goes begging, but India failed to score a boundary there.

Haris Rauf, one of Pakistan's express bowlers, is joining the attack for the first time today.

That ball was in the air for ages, you'd think one of the fielders would have got there.

You talk about a lack of mobility from the Pakistan fielders.

Usman Khan again, he's having a nightmare out there.

That would've been an absolute screamer.

  14. dropped catch

Pant dropped on 17published at 8.1 overs

    Ind 65-3

Had Usman Khan taken this catch, it would have been outrageous.

Rishabh Pant sent that high and not very far, looking to attack Imad Wasim.

Usman runs round, and with a one-handed dive, gets a hand to the ball but simply cannot take the catch.

Another drop for him today and Pant survives yet again.

There it is again, four on the last ball of the over.

Very explosive line-up from India, there's no shortage of batters to come.

  17. Ind 62-3published at 8 overs

It has not taken long for Suryakumar to get off the mark, driving Naseem Shah's final ball of the over for four runs.

Back down the ground, it races away from mid-on and mid-off for four.

Five runs come from that over and Imad Wasim is coming in to bowl some spin next.

It's come at a good time for Pakistan, he was just looking to find a boundary and he just couldn't do that.

They needed that after all their frustrations with dropped catches.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 7.4 overs

    Axar b Naseem 20 (Ind 58-3)

    Naseem Shah strikes again!

A second wicket for Naseem in as many overs.

Axar Patel charged down the ground to smash away, but completely misses it and the ball clatters into the top of middle stump.

Naseem has been Pakistan's golden arm so far.

Suryakumar Yadav is next in for India.
