That is a beautiful shot from Sophie Molineux. She's in the squad for her left-arm spin but she's a very good batter.

  2. Aus 148-8published at 20 overs

Not a particularly aesthetically-pleasing finish from Brooke Halliday, but there's no doubting it's been kind of effective. Just the one boundary off the final over as Sophie Molineux manages to get her bat under the ball to Halliday's second delivery and clinically dispatches it to the fence.

It seems like Australia are only looking for that boundary. That's really well bowled from Brooke Halliday. Australia haven't played the latter part of this innings well.

  4. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 19.1 overs

Sutherland st Gaze b Halliday 2 (Aus 138-8)

Brooke Halliday's right-arm filth gets another wicket!

Slow, high and wide. Annabel Sutherland cannot resist and has a big waft at it after dancing down the pitch.

Ball does not connect with bat and Isabella Gaze whips the bails off.

What's pleasing about Australia is that every success brings us some ACDC.

  6. Aus 138-7published at 19 overs

Seven runs from the penultimate over as Tahlia McGrath finishes it with a stylishly boundary over cover with a drive on the up off Rosemary Mair.

Here's two wickets in two balls from New Zealand leg-spinner Amelia Kerr, who has spearheaded their fightback.

At one point it looked like Australia were set for minimum 170.

Another really clever bit of bowling from Rosemary Mair. For this wicket you've got to take the pace off and she's done that.

  9. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 18.1 overs

    Gardner c Jonas b Mair 7 (Aus 131-7)

Australia giving their wickets away a little here.

Ashleigh Gardner advances down the wicket to Rosemary Mair and ends up top-edging a flat-batted slap into the hands of Fran Jonas at short third.

This New Zealand side are holding their nerve. Even though Australia's batting line-up is ridiculous, it's a hard wicket to come out to.

New Zealand need to try and keep them under 140.

  12. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 17.3 overs

    Wareham c Tahuhu b Kerr 4 (Aus 129-6)

Amelia Kerr misses out on a hat-trick but two balls later has her fourth wicket.

Wide from the Kiwi leg-spinner and Georgia Wareham cannot resist going after it, and ends up cutting the ball into the hands of Lea Tahuhu at backward point.

A brilliant fightback from New Zealand this.

Brooke Halliday has such a funky action. She bowls off the wrong foot which doesn't look right but it can be effective. That is the best worst over I've ever seen by her. The New Zealand coaching staff are laughing.

That might be the last over of Brooke Halliday. It was absolutely village. I've just seen the worst ball of the tournament from her. That was not a thing of beauty.

  15. Aus 127-5published at 17 overs

Eeesh. Not pretty from Brooke Halliday, who sends down a succession of full tosses.

However, neither Georgia Wareham nor Ashleigh Gardner are able to dispatch them to the boundary.

Deja vu, we've seen Melie Kerr take the exact same catch earlier but this time making sure she puts the ball nowhere near the ground.

  18. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 16.1 overs

    Litchfield c Kerr b Halliday 18 (Aus 121-5)

No doubts this time as Amelia Kerr takes the catch cleanly in the deep!

Brooke Halliday, who bowls off the wrong foot, and Phoebe Litchfield pulls it square where Kerr races in from the boundary and dives forward to take the catch.

  19. Aus 121-4published at 16:15 British Summer Time 8 October

Here's that Phoebe Litchfield chance from earlier which was given not out after Amelia Kerr was deemed to have grounded it.

    What do you think?

  20. Aus 121-4published at 16 overs

Lea Tahuhu goes short to Phoebe Litchfield, and the Aussie batter is unable to generate enough power off a slow-ish pitch to find the boundary.

Four overs to go. Australia will want 170. New Zealand will hope for more wickets and something closer to 150.
