Bangladesh having a left-right combination will prove difficult for the Netherlands bowlers.

  2. Ban 73-3published at 9 overs

Towhid Hridoy is in at five - he faces a couple of dot balls before picking up two to mid-wicket.

Three runs off the over, two from the one before, 12 and 19 from the two prior to that. Fluctuating.

The cross seamer does come out of the wicket slowly it's short enough that the batter has to hit up. That's a big moment in this game for the Netherlands.

Tanzid c de Leede b van Meekeren (Ban 71-3)

    The opener goes!

Tanzid goes to pull van Meekeren, who's bowling round the wicket, over mid-wicket but is hitting into the stiff breeze that's crossing the ground.

Bas de Leede has plenty of time to run in from the boundary, steady himself and take the catch.

A crucial breakthrough for the Netherlands.

We haven't seen a lot of turn yet but, the bouncing and slowness is making it tricky for the batters.

Bangladesh's recent form has relied heavy on the power hitters. It's nice to see them get a solid partnership going.

  6. Ban 69-2published at 8 overs

The Netherlands bring back wicket-taker Aryan Dutt to try and stem the Bangladesh tide a little.

He starts with a wide but does better afterwards, restricting the batters to three singles.

If you miss your line length even by such a small margin, it's unforgiving.

I think someone needs to grab this game from the scruff and address the pitch. It's crying out for someone to hold length.

Tanzid isn't going to be overshadowed, he makes it four fours in a row for Bangladesh with consecutive boundaries at the start of Bas de Leede's over, lashing past mid-off and then pulling square.

After losing those early wickets, this is now going rather well for Bangladesh.

Shakib Al Hasan is flying. The Netherlands started well. When they had a bad ball Bangladesh put it away and they've had a few of those throughout this powerplay.

  11. Ban 54-2published at 6 overs

Van Beek manages a dot ball but Shakib gets into him from the final two balls of the over, taking two more boundaries behind square - one an edge, one guided nicely and Bangladesh are now past fifty.

19 off the over to close the powerplay, Shakib moves to 25 from 13 and overtakes his batting partner, who's on 23 from 18.

  12. Ban 45-2published at 5.3 overs

Shakib isn't hanging around, picking up a couple of fours and a two from the first three balls of Logan van Beek's first over.

The two boundaries are lifted over backward point, while the two between them comes from a misfield after a shy at the stumps - the all-rounder had initially tried to hustle through a single.

The line is wide and that's when you can generate pace. As soon as you go wide good players will put you away. It's always going to the boundary for four.

  15. Ban 35-2published at 5 overs

Shakib faces three Paul van Meekeren dot balls before playing a nice classical cover drive for four, placing the ball expertly to the right of the diving cover fielder.

Here's an interesting slice of insight from the Netherlands' pre-match huddle - it looks like they have some kind of motivational laminated cards.

  17. Ban 30-2published at 4 overs

The familiar face of Shakib Al Hasan appears at the crease, and he takes a single to bring Tanzid back on strike.

The Bangladesh opener pulls past long on for four. He, at least, has had a good start.

    Das c Engelbrecht b Dutt 1 (Ban 23-2)

Dutt has another one, and it's thanks to a superb catch from SA Engelbrecht!

Das drops to his knee to play a lofted sweep, with the ball seemingly heading for the square leg boundary.

However the Bangladesh batter hadn't accounted for the athleticism of the Dutch fielder, who raced around from backward square to take the grab with a great leap, catching just above the ground.

That was only Litton's second ball, maybe he should have got his eye in a little more?

  20. Ban 23-1published at 3 overs

Tanzid picks up another two with a cut past point, before Kingma sends down a snorter that sees the ball wedge in the Bangladesh opener's helmet grille.

There's an extensive delay while the helmet is replaced and Tanzid undergoes concussion protocols, and with the batter approved to continue he finishes the over with a four through the covers.
