Home finish 'perfect' for retiring Thomas

Geraint Thomas said finishing his final race - the Tour of Britain - in his hometown of Cardiff was the perfect way to bring the curtain down on his glittering cycling career.

The 39-year-old, who won the 2018 Tour de France and became one of Britain's most successful riders, was greeted by huge crowds as he crossed the line for the last time.

Thomas said ending his journey where it all began - with friends and family present - made the farewell even more special.
