Plenty of appreciation for Nathan Aspinall and Michael van Gerwen on their way to the stage for the final quarter-final.

Aspinall to throw first, game on!

  14. A potentially bad night for Humphriespublished at 20:51 Greenwich Mean Time 13 March

    Aspinall v Van Gerwen

There is a scenario where this becomes a bad night for Luke Humphries in multiple ways.

Should Nathan Aspinall or Michael van Gerwen win the night, they would have caught up five of the seven points they trailed Cool Hand by at the start of the night.

On top of that, Littler has clawed back the two points he was sitting behind Humphries on and a semi-final win would see him move clear of the world number one.

Starting the night on eight points each, Nathan Aspinall and Michael van Gerwen have been the two men most likely to catch table leaders Luke Humphries and Luke Littler so far this season. The duo started the night five points behind Littler and seven behind Humphries.

Aspinall has reached two finals already this season, but lost to Littler in Brighton last week and to Gerwyn Price in Dublin three weeks ago.

For Van Gerwen, it's been all about consistency. He is yet to reach a night final, but he has won four of his five quarter-final matches so far.

The two met earlier this season, with Aspinall beating Van Gerwen in Dublin to reach the final.
