Luke Humphries was ruthless in his quarter-final.

Top players play in spells and get things done in the blink of an eye.

He'll have enjoyed that win and be delighted, but he wants to win the night and top the table.

Result: Michael van Gerwen 6-1 Luke Littler

I'm not sure how much that one rogue leg affected things but numbers-wise, it doesn't make for great reading for Luke Littler.

An average of 86.89 is well down on what we've come to expect from him, Michael van Gerwen was at 92.89.

The 180 count was four to two in MVG's favour and despite hitting only six of 25 darts at double, the Dutchman was better on the outer ring too.

He was at 24%, Littler posted 14.3%.

Michael van Gerwen dishes out a heavy defeat to Luke Littler!

Impressive stuff from Mighty Mike. He hits double six to seal the win and make his top-four place that bit more secure.

Victory in the final would give the Dutchman a record fifth weekly win in a Premier League campaign.

Littler, despite that loss, remains clear at the top of the table.

Ian Shepherd: I wasn't convinced that Littler being in the Premier league was a great idea, too much too soon? After a slowish start, he's blitzed the field tbh. What do I know!!

Incredibly they both end up down to double one having missed countless darts for the leg.

Michael van Gerwen eventually wins it with his 26th dart.

    That was quite something.

Michael van Gerwen 1-0 Luke Littler

The first 180 of the semi-final sets Michael van Gerwen on his way to a 17-dart hold.

It probably should have been a little more comfortable but three missed darts at double drag it out a bit.

It was really good from Michael van Gerwen. I wasn't expecting that kind of performance in terms of average. I thought he'd win but there would be some nerves. It was a great display. I've not seen a celebration like that from him for a while.

I can see him winning the night now. He's got the bit between his teeth.

More boos for Luke Littler, albeit not quite as loud as before his quarter-final.

That doesn't stop the teenager was taking selfies with a couple of fans in the crowd before he starts his walk-on.

Michael Smith is still battling away and that was a huge victoy.

Smith needs the points. He needs to go on now. Don't settle for two points.

Nathan will be concerned now. It could be a straight shootout next week.
