That is the freedom we all speak about. It's not the greatest way, it's the smallest target on the board, but he wants to go that way. I'm starting to change my tune about the way players go, rather than berate them, it is their choice. They can do what they like, but some are wrong.

  5. More Littler magicpublished at 21:34 British Summer Time 4 April

Littler is left on 90 and checks it out in an entertaining, yet unusual way.

The Nuke goes bull, 20, double 10, to go 4-2 up!

  6. Aspinall holds on his legpublished at 21:32 British Summer Time 4 April

    Aspinall 2-3 Littler

Not the best of legs from Littler but on his throw, Aspinall makes no mistake this time.

He leaves himself three darts to finish on double eight, landing it where he wants on the second attempt to half Littler's lead.

Luke Littler can throw too quickly when he's switching round the board. He's got to sort that out.

He's got it won and got it done, though.

  11. Littler levels uppublished at 21:27 British Summer Time 4 April

    Aspinall 1-1 Littler

Sharper and more threatening darts in the second leg from Littler, including a first maximum of this match.

He misses a dart to checkout 43 on double 10.

He then has a chance to take out 10, but lands low on double five.

Littler makes it trickier than needed with very fast darts, but does win the leg with a five checkout on double two.

  12. Aspinall holds the openerpublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 4 April

    Aspinall 1-0 Littler

Neither of these local heroes are able to find the best of starts in this opening leg.

Aspinall is the more consistent of the two and is able to get to a finish with darts to spare on The Nuke.

The Asp misses one dart at tops to checkout 64 but gets another go at it.

Aspinall takes the first leg with a 40 finish, going low on tops but landing his second dart in double 10.

    Aspinall 0-0 Littler

It's Stockport's Nathan Aspinall against Warrington's Luke Littler inside Manchester's AO Arena first in the semi-finals.

A very local feel to this semi-final and you would feel that whoever wins this will be the crowd's favourite in the final.

Another well-received entrance for Aspinall and he and Littler even dance and sing along to it together before shaking hands.

Sensational effort from the crowd signing Mr Brightside on their own before the warm-ups

It is a repeat of last week's final in Belfast.

Aspinall to throw first, game on!

Nathan Aspinall looks too strong for me so I suspect he'll win this first semi-final.

Gerwyn Price looked really strong then so I expect him to have too much for Michael Smith unless he has a slow start.

  15. Will Aspinall get revenge on Littler?published at 21:11 British Summer Time 4 April

Our first semi-final of the night sees Luke Littler face Nathan Aspinall.

Two north west lads going up against each other in Manchester? Is it going to be split loyalties for the crowd?

The pair are good friends and have faced each other four times so far in 2024, including in last week's final in Beflast.

Littler won that and leads 3-1 in those games.

    Result: Price 6-4 Wright

That was comfortably the best quarter-finals when on paper, it should have been the worst.

Price ended on an average of 107.88, just under Wright's 109.52.

Wright even took out all four of his double attempts, but Price got eight of them, taking six, and winning the match as a result.

Clinical from both and Price's semi-final match with Michael Smith should be a cracker.

  18. 'Stunning from Price'published at 21:03 British Summer Time 4 April

    That was an astonishing game.

Peter Wright has just lost with an average nearing 110 and having not missed a dart at double.

Price misses a match dart to take out 60 at tops, but with his final dart, finishes off on double 10.

A truly superb match that showed how much talent is in this Premier League.

Both men were excellent, but it is Gerwyn Price who will face Michael Smith in the semi-finals.
