    Littler 0-0 Aspinall

I've never seen that before. Luke Littler has just spoke/sung along to master of ceremonies John McDonald calling him the "champion of the world" ahead of walking up to the stage.

He loves it and rightly so. Who wouldn't!

He takes on close friend Nathan Aspinall, with Aspinall having a poor record against The Nuke.

Littler to throw first, game on.

On whether he could beat Phil Taylor's record of 16 World Championship titles, after Gerwyn Price claimed Littler could last week: "If I stay in the game for long enough and commit to it then yeah, that will be in sight, but I'm not thinking about that at the minute."

Luke Littler has won his last eight matches against Nathan Aspinall. The two always have a bit of banter up on the stage – but you have to wonder if Aspinall needs to be a bit more ruthless against the World Champion.

Hardly anyone seems to have Luke Littler's number but Gerwyn Price does seem to. He wasn't better than him last week but his timing was better.

Gerwyn can get on top of you results wise and he isn't someone you can intimidate.

I saw Michael van Gerwen backstage earlier this evening and he seemed his usual calm, confident self.

Despite Humphries’ clinical play, MVG didn’t let the world number one breathe.

The average remained high, and after capitalising on Humphries’ missed darts at double in leg six, he reeled off five consecutive legs at his brilliant best.

A little sloppy in the last leg, but he got the job done.

    This match has been relentless!

Left on 164 for the match, Michael van Gerwen only scores 40, but he will come back, with Luke Humphries waiting on 80.

Treble 20, 14, 25. That was almost perfect.

Cool Hand goes for the two double 20s and gets it horribly wrong.

Van Gerwen keeps it simple and lands 25 on double eight in two darts.

Some of the best darts we have seen from Michael van Gerwen for some time. Absolutely outstanding.

For the second week in a row, Luke Humphries is out in the quarter-finals.
