  7. Postpublished at 14:03 Greenwich Mean Time

    Mickey Mansell 6-7 Martin Lukeman

Martin Lukeman's three-dart average has just popped above 100 thanks to some heavy scoring in recent legs - if you're new to the sport, a 100 average is the benchmark for a top-class performance on the oche.

Mickey Mansell needs six attempts to finally hit double 10 and take the 13th leg.

  8. Postpublished at 13:59 Greenwich Mean Time

    Mickey Mansell 5-7 Martin Lukeman

Martin Lukeman starts 140, 180, 149 to leave double 16 after nine darts and that's always going to be difficult to break the throw against.

He hits double eight after a couple of misses at double 16 and the two-leg lead is restored.

  9. Postpublished at 13:57 Greenwich Mean Time

    Mickey Mansell 5-6 Martin Lukeman

Both players hit 180s in leg 11 and are down to finishes after nine darts.

Mickey Mansell goes first at 101 and misses double 12 to take it out.

Martin Lukeman has 126 left but can't find a big treble, giving Mansell a chance to reduce the gap to one.

Great to see the BBC website covering the final day of the Grand Slam of Darts. One thing that always gets me about this tournament is having both the semis and the final on the same day. Particularly when it’s such long games for the players, the schedule really does need to change. Anyway, hoping for a cracker of a day.

This is turning into a terrific semi-final.

    Mickey Mansell 4-6 Martin Lukeman

A Mickey Mansell 180 gets him down to a double, putting pressure on Martin Lukeman, who has 55 left.

But Lukeman takes it out in two darts and goes into the next break with a two-leg lead.

Lukeman won four of the five legs in that mini-session.

  13. Postpublished at 13:48 Greenwich Mean Time

    Mickey Mansell 4-5 Martin Lukeman

    That's better from Mickey Mansell!

His first 180 of the match gets him down to a finish after nine darts and he breaks Martin Lukeman's throw to end a run of five successive legs for the Englishman.

The darts that are dropping below the triple 20 will be a concern for Mickey Mansell. He seems to be reaching a little bit.

Martin Lukeman has settled down. He doesn't seem to be thinking about the bigger picture anymore, he's thinking about the darts match. He's into his work.

    Mickey Mansell 3-5 Martin Lukeman

And Mickey Mansell's scoring struggles continue in leg eight, which Martin Lukeman takes with a 56 checkout.

Still a long way to go - the first to 16 legs wins - but Mansell will need to arrest this slide pretty quickly before this semi-final gets too far away from him.

  16. Postpublished at 13:43 Greenwich Mean Time

That can happen but it will be a little worrying that is has happened so early.

The TV cameras pan to Batman and Robin in the crowd - nice of them to put their crime-fighting on hold and join us for the darts today.

Mickey Mansell struggles to find the big trebles and Martin Lukeman is in front for the first time in the match.

  19. Postpublished at 13:40 Greenwich Mean Time

    Mickey Mansell 3-3 Martin Lukeman

The break hasn't halted Martin Lukeman's momentum - he starts with a 180.

But Mickey Mansell is scoring pretty well himself, hitting a barrage of 140s so far in this match.

Leg six goes the way of Lukeman, his third in a row, with a successful try at double two.

The events of the past couple of months will surely have given huge confidence to Mickey Mansell and Martin Lukeman as their runs have progressed this week.

At the past two big tournaments, Mike de Decker (pictured) and Ritchie Edhouse were big outsiders before going on to win their first majors at the World Grand Prix and European Championship respectively.

Could we see another unlikely winner later today?
