This was one of the best atmospheres I've ever seen before a match.

Luke Littler will be feeling it right now. It is a great opportunity for Gary Anderson.

I thought Littler looked as good as he has since the Premier League final when he got on stage against Jermaine Wattimena on Saturday but he looked a little nervy today.

We should be in for a cracker here.

The Grand Slam of Darts was first staged in November 2007, with players from the now-defunct British Darts Organisation circuit invited to play in the event alongside players from the Professional Darts Corporation.

Gary Anderson, then in the BDO system, played in that inaugural event and lost to eventual champion Phil Taylor in the semi-final.

Luke Littler was 10 months old.

Gary Anderson is first. He's a real fan favourite and the crowd gets involved with his walk-on music, which is "Jump Around" by House of Pain.

The first third of the match will decide who wins between Luke Littler and Gary Anderson.

Anderson has to find his way ahead somehow and then hold onto it.

I can't imagine Littler getting it all his own way like he did in the quarter-finals on Saturday.

Sometimes we take for granted what Luke Littler is doing.

Most darts players will say "I don't mind who I play" but for Littler to say Gary Anderson last night is testament to respect he has for him.

Gary Anderson has won pretty much all there is to win in professional darts, but the Eric Bristow Trophy is one which has eluded the 53-year-old Scot to date.

The two-time world champion has twice reached the final, but was beaten in 2011 by Phil Taylor and seven years later by Gerwyn Price.

Anderson needed all of his years of experience to hold off another of darts' young stars, Gian van Veen, 16-14 in his quarter-final on Saturday.

If you have spent any time following darts over the past 12 months, you will know the Luke Littler story by now.

The World Championship runner-up and Premier League champion was in destructive form on Saturday, inflicting the heaviest quarter-final defeat in Grand Slam history on Jermaine Wattimena.

The teenager threw 12 180s and hit four ton-plus finishes in a 16-2 victory that was wrapped up inside 28 minutes.

So we know the identity of our first finalist, but who will be joining Martin Lukeman in tonight's final - 17-year-old Luke Littler or 53-year-old Gary Anderson?

Martin Lukeman managed the match really well. He got ahead in the middle and stayed ahead. He did a great job. It was a solid game.

Both were pretty good and can hold their heads high.

Lukeman seemed to feel comfortable. He always had the confidence that he could win and once he got ahead it was solid.

I would tell him to ignore the second semi-final - it won't be fun watching for him.

Grand Slam of Darts finalist Martin Lukeman, speaking to Sky Sports: "I went behind again but I'm a bit of a bulldog, I'm a fighter so I wasn't worried, especially in a first-to-16.

"Mickey is an awesome player, I wish him all the best, he was a great opponent.

"It's hard (to keep composed in a big match), you've got thousands of people behind you, millions watching on TV, but you've just got to zone out and try to focus."

It was a well-deserved and very applied finish from Martin Lukeman. He rode out holds of throw from Mickey Mansell and it was a great display of knowing where he was and what he needed to do from Lukeman.

Martin Lukeman stayed calm and collected in wrapping up that win. He averaged 99.66 and hit 12 180s on his way to victory. Quotes on the way from our first finalist.

Lukeman will play either Luke Littler or Gary Anderson is tonight's final.

The 39-year-old qualifier, ranked 45th in the world before this event, is into the final!

Martin Lukeman gets a look at 105 to secure a semi-final win, but it's not to be this time.

Mickey Mansell finds double 10 on his next visit and forces Lukeman to try to wrap it up on his own throw.

If Martin Lukeman has any nerves in his body, he's not showing them.

Another 180, his 12th of the match, lays the platform for him to take leg 26 with an 81 checkout.

One more leg required for the 39-year-old to reach his first major televised final.

Mickey Mansell has had some trouble on double 10 today but he finds it on this occasion and keeps Martin Lukeman two legs away from reaching the final.
