Former Plymouth Argyle centre back Marcel Seip has been training with Truro City.
But 29-year-old Seip, who was released by Argyle in May, is unlikely to sign with City according to boss Lee Hodges.
Hodges has told BBC Radio Cornwall that he has offered Seip 45 minutes in Tuesday's friendly at Falmouth Town, but is unsure if he will play.
Seip joined Argyle in 2006 from Dutch club SV Heerenveen with loan spells at Sheffield United and Blackpool.
He had a chequered career at Argyle, for whom he played 136 times, and was put on the transfer list for refusing to be a substitute in a game against Charlton in April 2008. , external
Hodges has also confirmed the signings of two players from Cornish rivals Penryn Athletic.
Centre back Hal Davis and wide player William Scoley have both signed for City.
Davis scored 10 goals for Penryn in the South West Peninsula League last season.
