Chelmsford City manager Glenn Pennyfather has signed a new two-year contract with the Blue Square Bet South club.
The move ends any speculation regarding his future at the Clarets, who missed out on promotion in the play-offs last season.
Pennyfather told BBC Essex, external: "Hopefully that will put all the scaremongering to bed.
"I knew it would come to fruition in the end."
A new-look Chelmsford kicked-off the season with a 1-0 defeat at home by Truro City on Saturday.
The away trip to Staines on Tuesday has been postponed as a mark of respect to Staines chairman Alan Boon, who died over the weekend.
