Heeley played over 500 games for Worcester City

Worcester City manager Carl Heeley says he was devastated after his team crashed out of the FA Cup at Ryman Division One South club Godalming Town.

Dan Read and Scott Harris put Town 2-0 up before Luke Corbett scored for City in the second qualifying round tie.

Heeley told BBC Hereford & Worcester: "It's the worst day of my career

"It's a massive competition, it's huge for the club and we've shot it down. We haven't got any prize money and that's a savage blow to us."

Heeley added:"Whatever the implications are because of that, we have to accept it.

"On behalf of my team I want to apologise to the directors and the supporters who follow us through thick and thin because that performance wasn't good enough.

"It just goes to show when you don't do things right you get beaten. It's without doubt the lowest point of my career.

"It's my team and I pick the players, so I take responsibility when we win and I take responsibility when we get beaten. But I feel let down."

To add to Worcester's problems their team coach broke down on the way home and, after a four hour wait for a replacement, they had to hire a fleet of taxis to get them home.
