Truro City lose after 'soft' Havant penalty
- Published
Truro City defender Barry McConnell insists he did not foul Havant and Waterlooville's Christian Nanetti for the decisive penalty in their 1-0 defeat at Treyew Road.
Nanetti was adjudged to have been fouled by McConnell and the attacker converted the 70th minute spot kick.
The decision came after Truro's Les Afful had a penalty claim of his own turned down just after half time.
"I got the ball, he dived over my leg and bought a penalty," McConnell said.
"Maybe I shouldn't have made the challenge, but I got the ball cleanly.
"It's just unfortunate that the game's been decided on that sort of decision," the former Exeter City player told BBC Radio Cornwall.
