Jason Lee 'will not quit' as Boston United manager

Boston United manager Jason Lee is adamant he will not quit despite seeing his side suffer a fourth successive defeat in Blue Square Bet North.

Spencer Weir-Daley scored twice for the Pilgrims against Oxford City on Tuesday, but they surrendered a 2-1 half-time lead and were beaten 4-2.

Boston have slipped to 13th in the table after six games despite winning their opening two league fixtures.

But Lee told BBC Lincolnshire that he "would never walk away".

The former Nottingham Forest striker, who took over sole control as manager in the summer, added: "It may well be taken away from me, but as a player I never quit and what sort of leader would you be if you bring people to the club and encourage them to resign and then walk away?

"I would be letting the players down. I will stay in there but performances and - more importantly - results have to turn in our favour as soon as possible.

"I fully understand the way it works. I know if results aren't going your way then it is the manager that gets it in the neck.

"I brought the players to the club if they are not good enough it is on my head."
