Gateshead midfielder Josh Gillies believes confidence is high at the Tyneside club after their positive start to the season.

Ian Bogie's side sit in sixth place in the Blue Square Bet Premier after four wins and only one defeat from their opening eight games.

"The gaffer's put massive confidence in us," Gillies told BBC Newcastle.

"We just need to keep on winning games, we go into every game believing we can win it."

Gillies scored his second goal in a week in Saturday's 2-0 win over Dartford and added: "Getting two goals in consecutive games is massive."

The 22-year-old has also been called up into the England C squad for their fixture against Belgium.

"I'm very excited, hopefully I will get a good run out and play well against a good opposition," he said.
