Truro City FC face 'desperate' situation, says administrator

Truro City's administrator says the club faces a "desperate" situation as they battle to survive.

The club after a series of and could play their final home game against AFC Totton in the FA Cup on Saturday.

"Time is of the essence, every day counts," Kate Breese, from administrators Walsh Taylor, told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"We're getting quite desperate now for something to move forward."

She revealed the Blue Square Bet South club have had six parties register an interest in taking over, but there has not been a single firm bid.

"We're still appealing for any other interested parties to come forward," added Breeze.

"There are no firm offers on the table as yet, so until we're at that stage we're not out of the woods and until we've got that firm offer we're still in the danger zone."

The club have two away games after Saturday's FA Cup match, so will not be able to get any gate receipts in to pay their bills.

And with the players threatening to leave the club at the end of September, Breese admits there could be just a fortnight left to save the club.

She added: "It is inevitable that we can't continue on for much longer and it could be as little as that [the end of September].

"We're getting quite desperate now and we do need some formal offers so we know where we're going with this."
