Truro City manager Lee Hodges says his players will leave the club in two games' time if a new owner is not found and they are not paid their wages.

City lost 3-2 to AFC Totton in the FA Cup second qualifying round.

"I've asked them to give me next Saturday and Tuesday, and if the money doesn't come in then we'll all call it a day," Hodges told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"We're getting phone calls about players left, right and centre being offered contracts to be paid to play."

He added: "They're digging in for me to stay here because they don't want to go, but there's only so long we can carry on that - it'll be next Saturday and Tuesday, if nothing's done by them I'm sure that'll be it."

Richard Gillespie gave Totton a first-half lead and Dave Allen made it 2-0 just after half-time before Stewart Yetton pulled one back for City.

But Mike Gosney got a third for Totton with 12 minutes left before Ben Williams' late consolation for the White Tigers.

City's administrators said last week that there had been no firm offers for the club and City faced a "desperate" situation as they try and survive.

But despite all the off-field problems Hodges was pleased with the way his side played against a Totton side that Truro beat to win the FA Vase at Wembley in 2007., external

"The first-half performance showed we were a club in dire straits and in need of a lift," he added.

"But we had a right go second half and we created a lot of good chances and on other days the ball goes in the back of the net and we win comfortably.

"Second half we were right there and I just wish the boys would have got the right result that their second half performance deserved.

"If we were training twice a week we'd have been fine, but we're not training and not coaching and we're finding it hard, we looked like a team that's not training at the moment."
