Truro City manager Lee Hodges has praised the performance of goalkeeper Luke McCormick after he made his debut for the club in their 3-2 loss to Farnborough in the FA Trophy.

"He's a good goalkeeper and he played ever so well.

"Luke's come in and is doing it for nothing," Hodges told BBC Cornwall.

Truro are subject to a , external because of , external and needed to find a replacement after regular keeper goalkeeper Tim Sandercombe was injured in their 3-2 win over AFC Hornchurch earlier this month.

He played 157 games for Plymouth Argyle prior to being jailed, the last in the Championship against Wolves in May 2008, but failed to win a contract with Swindon during a trial period with the club in August.

"The situation we're in is that Tim got injured and we're not allowed to sign anyone on a contract.

"We agreed it [signing McCormick] with the administrators, they were happy for it to happen," said Hodges.

McCormick was beaten for the first time in the 22nd minute as Elvis Hammond gave Farnborough the lead, but Andy Watkins spectacularly equalised just before the break.

Dan Bennett and Reece Connolly made the game safe for the home side before Jake Ash got a last minute consolation goal, but Hodges was unhappy afterwards because a partial floodlight failure meant only some areas of the pitch were illuminated.

"It affected the game and made a major difference. All you want is it for to be even for each side," he added.

"We've created a lot of chances yet we're disappointed that we haven't got a replay."
