Truro City manager Lee Hodges has expressed his frustration at his side's inconsistency after their 3-0 defeat by Staines at Treyew Road.

Saturday's loss followed a 2-1 win at Hayes the previous week.

"It's very frustrating, it just feels like one step forward and two steps back," Hodges told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"It was nice to see us get three points on the board last week. Today it was back to square one - again I'm standing here saying the same things."

He added: "Individual errors cost us goals. It's so frustrating to watch from the sidelines."

This campaign Hodges has guided the club through a turbulent period, with the club hit with a 10 point deduction after going into administration in September.

And the former Plymouth player admits it's been difficult to keep the players' focus to issues on the pitch.

"It's very difficult," he said. "Your first aim is to get a team out - then you've got to make sure they're ready to play against the opposition.

"If you're not performing on your day then you'll come unstuck. Today was one of those days where we didn't deal with set pieces as well as them."
