Guernsey FC 'bullied' in 3-1 Egham defeat - Tony Vance

Guernsey FC manager Tony Vance says his side were "bullied" in their 3-1 defeat at fellow Combined Counties Premier Division title hopefuls Egham Town.

Egham took the lead after just three minutes before top scorer Ross Allen equalised four minutes later.

But second-placed Egham went ahead on 33 minutes and extended their advantage with a 90th-minute goal.

"We weren't very good tonight all round, I thought we got bullied a bit," Vance told BBC Guernsey.

The loss was just the second league defeat of the season for the Green Lions after being beaten 1-0 at Camberley Town at the start of August.

"They deserved it, they were hungry for the game and our quality wasn't there," added Vance.

"We didn't deserve anything to be honest.

"Am I concerned? Not really, we've only lost a game of football and there's 24 games to go so we'll move on."

Egham are now just two points off top spot while Guernsey remain in sixth place.

The Green Lions still have 10 games in hand on leaders Epsom and Ewell and are 17 points behind them.
