Truro City boss Lee Hodges says survival is a 'big ask'

Truro City boss Lee Hodges says survival in the Blue Square Bet South will be a "big ask" for his side.

City, who have suffered financial problems throughout the season, are 21 points from safety and 15 points behind second-from-bottom Billericay Town.

"It's a big ask but from now until the end of the season," Hodges told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"All I want is that everyone who goes on the pitch has a right go and to see if we can pick up a few more wins."

The White Tigers host Hayes and Yeading on Saturday hoping for their first home win since they beat Tonbridge Angels 2-0 at the start of December.

And Hodges says he wants that home form to improve.

"It's a massive challenge and what I've asked them to do between now and the end of the season is to make sure they compete in every game," he said.

"Our home performances have been well below par and we need to start getting one or two points at home.

"It's a very tough ask, we've gone through the season conceding too many late goals.

"We've competed in most of our games and whether it's the rub of the green or lack of concentration, it's just happened through the whole of the season.

"The home form's been really disappointing for us.

"Maybe a little bit of luck we can go into the game and start picking up points at home," he added.
