Barrow 1-1 Ebbsfleet Utd

  • Published

Barrow clinched an important point against Blue Square Bet Premier relegation rivals Ebbsfleet.

Kick-off was delayed by 90 minutes as the Ebbsfleet coach was delayed by a baked bean spillage on the M6.

But the visitors started brightly, with Phil Walsh heading in Gareth Gwillim's corner only for Adam Boyes to score a sweetly hit equaliser.

Ebbsfleet saw Nathan Elder sent off late on following an incident with Garry Hunter.

It capped a miserable evening for the Kent side, who were held up by the motorway incident during their 300-mile trip to Cumbria.

The Fleet are now 10 points adrift in the relegation zone with a game in hand on most of the teams above them, while Barrow edged to within a point of safety.
