Hyde 1-0 Ebbsfleet Utd

Ebbsfleet's Blue Square Bet Premier survival hopes look all but over as they were defeated by 10-man Hyde.

Louis Almond forced visiting keeper Preston Edwards into a fine save shortly before Liam Enver-Marum fired wide at the opposite end.

Hyde took the lead two minutes before the interval when Matthew Blinkhorn poked Almond's cross over the line.

Ebbsfleet received a glimmer of hope when Adam Griffin was given his marching orders, but Hyde held firm.

Daish wants Fleet to play for pride

"We had enough chances in the first half but didn't hit the target and, to be fair to Hyde, they defended resolutely in the second half.

"You can have a man advantage but if you don't use the ball in the right areas, all the rest is immaterial. We tried pushing bodies forward but our quality wasn't good enough.

"It's been a long season. We want to play for personal pride and come out with credit. We want as many points as we can get and that will not change."
