Ebbsfleet United: MyFootballClub votes to offer shareholding

MyFootballClub, external have decided to relinquish their shareholding in Ebbsfleet United.
The website, which has a 75% stake in the club, have voted to hand two-thirds of their shares to the Fleet Trust, the club's supporters' trust.
One of the club's major shareholders, believed to be former chairman Phil Sonsara, is to be offered the final third of their shareholding.
A MyFC spokesman said they took the decision following a protest from fans.
The Fleet Trust are now considering the offer, which would see their stake in the club rise to 51%.
A MyFootballClub spokesman told BBC Radio Kent: "We've listened to the supporters as MyFootballClub's members are all football supporters.
"There will be many fans upset with owners up and down the country.
"The real story is the survival of Ebbsfleet United Football Club, and to achieve that we need everybody pulling in the same direction."
Ebbsfleet need to raise £100,000 by the end of the month in order to avoid entering administration.
Last week, the Stonebridge Road outfit was the subject of a takeover bid by Carlos Kabir Karani, who is involved in football in the Canary Islands and Spain.
MyFootballClub took over Ebbsfleet in February 2008, external but membership of the community fan website, which originally stood at over 27,000, has fallen to around 1,000.
The Fleet Trust expressed their concern at the sustainability of the club under MyFootballClub's ownership earlier this season.
MyFC board chairman Jeff Hamnett said in a statement that the decision to offer the shareholding "will enable the supporters to have their say in the future of the club".
The Fleet Trust said: "Any process to potentially transfer shareholdings will clearly take a period of time to accomplish.
"The Fleet Trust would welcome financial donations from all Fleet fans to enable the Trust to continue working on their behalf."
