Ismail Yakubu has agreed a new contract with Newport County which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2013-14 season.

The Nigerian-born central defender, 28, is the latest player to agree terms with the club following their Conference play-off triumph against Wrexham on 6 May.

Manager Justin Edinburgh announced extensions for 11 players on 10 May.

However, talks are still ongoing with Wembley scorer Aaron O'Connor.

The club have already agreed new deals with skipper David Pipe, Tony James, Byron Anthony, Mike Flynn, Lee Minshull, Danny Crow, Max Porter, Andy Sandell, Andrew Hughes, Robbie Willmott and Lenny Pidgeley.

The club have also offered a short-term contract to striker Rhys Griffiths, but Scott Donnelly, Ben Swallow and goalkeeper Alan Julian have been released.
