Conference Premier side Grimsby Town have signed experienced midfielder Scott Kerr on a one-year contract.

The 31-year-old played 31 times for League Two outfit York City last season but was one of nine players released by boss Nigel Worthington in April.

He had previously helped the Minstermen back into the Football League in 2012.

Kerr enjoyed spells with Scarborough and Lincoln, for whom he played 248 times, before joining York on a free transfer in January 2011., external
