Scunthorpe United are set to sign midfielder Andy Welsh.
BBC Radio Humberside understands the Iron are close to completing a deal for the 29-year-old, who has been released by Carlisle.
He started his career at Stockport before stints with Sunderland, Blackpool, Yeovil and the Cumbrians.
Scunthorpe boss Brian Laws has added four players so far this summer, with Andy Dawson, Chris Iwelumo, Terry Hawkridge and Luke Waterfall joining.
