Southport sign Stockport striker Danny Hattersley

Conference Premier side Southport have paid an undisclosed fee to sign striker Danny Hattersley from Stockport County.

The 21-year-old scored 11 goals in 37 league games last season but could not save Ian Bogie's Hatters from relegation to the Conference North.

Southport manager Alan Wright told the club website: "We have got a real talent on our hands.

"Danny has all the attributes to be a major force at our level and up the football pyramid."

Hattersley follows midfielders Jamie Milligan and Paul Rutherford to the Sandgrounders, after they agreed moves earlier this week.
