League One Bristol City have confirmed winger Albert Adomah has handed in a transfer request.

The 25-year-old Ghana international has a year left to run on his contract, but has recently been the subject of two unsuccessful bids from an unnamed club.

City have not revealed the interested party, but newspaper reports, external suggested Wigan had made an £850,000 offer.

"Until an acceptable offer is received, he will remain a Bristol City player," said a statement on the club website., external

The Ashton Gate outfit paid a six-figure sum for Adomah in 2010 and he has played 136 games, scoring 17 goals.

Despite their relegation to League One last season, City head coach Sean O'Driscoll told BBC Radio Bristol he is not under financial pressure to sell players.

"This is the first time at a club, apart from my brief time at Forest, where I've had the facility to wait for the right bid to come along," he said.

"We have to manage the player and that's the conundrum in this. A player wants to go and feels his career would be best suited somewhere else, so we're trying to manage his situation."
