Oxford United are still actively looking for new recruits in a couple of positions, according to assistant manager Mickey Lewis.

U's boss Chris Wilder missed Saturday's pre-season friendly at Berwick as he was on a scouting mission.

Lewis admits the club are still seeking players who can improve their squad before the start of the season.

"There are a couple of positions that I think we can improve and strengthen," Lewis told BBC Radio Oxford.

"We know enough about our own players, so it is important for us to go and watch a couple of games."

Oxford have already made a number of new signings this summer, most notably former Sheffield United, Reading, Stoke and Portsmouth striker Dave Kitson.

They begin the new League Two campaign against one of his former clubs, with a trip to Fratton Park to take on Pompey.
