Burton Albion have signed former Derby County and Stoke City midfielder Rory Delap on a one-year contract.
The 37-year-old ex-Republic of Ireland international, who can also play in defence, was released by Premier League side Stoke in June and has been training with Burton in pre-season.
"From what I've seen in a short space of time, the club's well run and geared to play in a higher league," he said.
Manager Gary Rowett added: "His signing is a fantastic coup for the club."
